It has been such an eventful Oscars this year, has it not? But we can’t say we minded the drama. At a time when the relevance of such ceremonies have been drawn into question, and in the midst of global unrest, catching up on some fresh celebrity goss definitely allowed us a tiny bit of much-needed escapism—and loads to talk about with friends, maybe even random strangers on social media.
Apart from historical wins, a little tension, and a good deal red carpet rule-breaking (looking at you Kristen Stewart), the 94th Academy Awards provided far more entertainment than anyone could have predicted—including some of the most creative jewellery looks we’ve yet to see in quite a while.
From tasteful remix of the classics to eye-wateringly gorgeous high jewellery, and also timeless classic beauty looks, here are Vogue Singapore’s favourite jewellery moments from the Oscars red carpet, as well as its surrounding parties.

Zendaya
If there were an award for best jewellery look, it would go to Zendaya for her memorable styling of multiple Bulgari Serpenti pieces that was as surprising as it was refreshing. Worn with several Bulgari high jewellery rings, this remix of a classic was perfectly harmonious with her custom Valentino outfit.

Hailey Bieber
Dressed in a nude Saint-Laurent cut-out dress, Hailey Bieber arrived at the Vanity Fair party fully armed with a bevy of solid gold Tiffany & Co. bangles and bracelets worn over her sleeves. They include Elsa Peretti cuffs and bangles, as well as Tiffany Schlumberger bracelets and rings.

Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga was a vision in her pale yellow tulle gown worn at the Elton John Oscars viewing party but her on-stage look made a bigger impression. For that she wore a sequinned tuxedo complete with bow tie, showing us two radically different looks worn with her Tiffany & Co. high jewellery suite.

Kristen Stewart
There is so much one could say about Kristen Stewart’s red carpet look but right now we’re primarily concerned with that fabulous Chanel Ganse Noire Spinelle necklace featuring a glorious reddish-pink spinel, black onyx and diamonds. This necklace was the perfect jewellery piece to pair with her blouse, left defiantly unbuttoned.

Beyoncé
Her daffodil-yellow gown comes complete with elbow gloves and a built-in cape but Beyoncé was flaunting more than her ridiculously fabulous bod. We were also looking at hundreds of carats of diamonds crafted by red carpet favourite, Lorraine Schwartz. We also noticed how Jay-Z accessorised his white tux with a charming Tiffany & Co. Bird on the Rock brooch featuring yellow citrine to match Bey’s outfit.

Billie Eilish
Bringing home the Oscar for Best Original Song, Billie Eilish accented her all-black Gucci ruffle dress with an armada of platinum rings repurposed from a vintage Fred Leighton tiara dating back to 1890. Featuring old mine cut and rose cut diamonds mounted in silver on gold, these heritage rich pieces take on a modern perspective as modelled by Eilish.

Lashana Lynch
The No Time To Die star arrived at the Vanity Fair party in a slinky white halter dress but it was the party on her ears that we’re obsessed with. She wore a plethora of diamond drop earrings by Rahaminov Diamonds all over multiple piercings, on both ears to boot. Lynch also accessorised with statement rings and an elegant Omega Constellation timepiece.

Megan Thee Stallion
It was the Houston rapper’s Oscars debut and she definitely understood the assignment, pairing that fabulous pastel blue gown by Indian designer Gaurav Gupta with oodles of jewellery by Lorraine Schwartz. That pair of diamond and sapphire earrings is simply to die for.

We are positively swooning over Hunter Schafer’s De Beers jewellery suite which includes a stunning diamond and yellow diamond choker and a coloured diamonds ring. That fabulous Light Rays diamond ear cuff could not have been more perfect for her edgy punk-princess look.
11 / 35
Lily James
Attending the Oscars for the first time, Lily James wore a sweet pink Versace dress and illuminating jewellery from Piaget’s Wings of Light collection. Emerald lovers will definitely be fawning over Vanessa Hudgens’ red carpet look made up of a sexy cut-out gown by Michael Kors Collection and Bulgari jewels. She went full green with a high jewellery necklace featuring one 11.35-carat octagonal emerald, a pair of high jewellery emerald earrings, and a ring set with one cushion-cut emerald.
16 / 35
Daisy Edgar-Jones
Daisy Edgar-Jones’ green and pink houndstooth Versace dress could not distract us from that Tiffany & Co. high jewellery necklace set with zoisites and diamonds, which looks fresh as a, well, daisy, because it was just released from the jeweller’s 2022 Blue Book collection.

Anyone who’s a fan of Tiffany Schlumberger will immediately recognise this lovely Chevron Fringe necklace worn by Adria Arjona.

Chrissy Teigen
Architectural drop earrings by Lorraine Schwartz complemented Chrissy Teigen’s Georges Hobeika one-shoulder dress and of course her natural beauty.
21 / 35

Despite all that happened, we just had to say that, for what it’s worth, Jada Pinkett-Smith looks amazing with that buzz cut and we couldn’t look away from those sizzling Glenn Spiro earrings either.

Kim Kardashian
Extra large diamond drop earrings with a touch of blue (might be aquamarines for that soft blue tone) courtesy of Lorraine Schwartz to go with Kim Kardashian’s electric blue Balenciaga gown.

Lupita Nyong’o looked positively dazzling in this shimmering Prada dress, paired exquisitely with De Beers coloured diamonds jewellery.
27 / 35
Amelie Zilber
The next Christian Dior and Tiffany & Co. pairing comes from Amelie Zilber who wears this soft red gown with not one but two necklaces—the first, a modern and edgy Tiffany Knot, and the second a timeless Tiffany Schlumberger–with extra rings and bracelets.
28 / 35
Sofia Carson
The actress-singer added a pop of colour to her black one-shoulder black tulle dress by Giambattista Valli with jewellery by Piaget. Those earrings with white and yellow diamonds did an amazing job lighting up her red carpet ensemble.

Zoe Kravitz
Superb oval shaped diamonds dominated Zoe Kravitz’s jewellery look courtesy of New York legacy jeweller, Kwiat.
30 / 35
Regina Hall
Earthy neutrals made up Regina Hall’s beauty and fashion styling but her jewellery choices were also perfectly on-theme, with Pomellato earrings, bracelet, and rings studded with white and brown diamonds. That voluminous Catene bracelet could not have been more quintessentially Italian and it matched her Vera Wang dress like a dream.
31 / 35
Rami Malek
Of course men are also warming up to jewellery on the red carpet, and Rami Malek looked extra dashing with his Cartier Tank watch and Clash [Un]limited pocket jewellery. Indeed this year, jacket lapels have definitely become much more interesting to observe.
32 / 35
Timothée Chalamet
Always bringing much dazzle and creativity to the red carpet, Timothée Chalamet’s rule-breaking streak continues this year. He’s left his shirt at home, but makes up for it with this fun and edgy Cartier Panthere necklace, matched with diamond and onyx Panthere rings.
33 / 35
Kodi Smit-McPhee
Top to toe baby blue was Kodi Smit-McPhee’s style direction for the Oscars but the actor also delivered a punch with lots of Cartier jewellery, from Reflection de Cartier necklace and earrings to Etincelle and Juste Un Clou rings. He was also wearing a most memorable Revelations d’Une Panthere watch with an ethereal dial that forms a face of a panther, for just a moment, before it disappears into a cloud of diamonds.
34 / 35
Jason Momoa
Jason Momoa’s scrunchie makes a comeback at this year’s Oscars but he also brought a bit of badassery with rows of knuckle-duster rings. Come now, Jason, your 1.93m frame is menacing enough.
