The Oscars 2022 race is officially on. When the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences unveiled its list of nominees last month, the films in contention ranged from period dramas to shorts about sports, sci-fi flicks to festival documentaries. And while many were playing exclusively in theaters—Paul Thomas Anderson’s evocative Licorice Pizza, Steven Spielberg’s West Side Story, and international favorites like Ryusuke Hamaguchi’s Drive My Car, Joachim Trier’s The Worst Person in the World, and Pedro Almodóvar’s Parallel Mothers, for instance—virtually all are now available to stream.
Still have some catching up to do ahead of the ceremony on March 27? Read on for our list of 48 films up for Oscars this year that you can watch right now—and let the predictions begin!
