On the accessories front, this season seemed to be all about anomalous shapes, referencing a certain creative fluidity and freedom in this post-pandemic era. Acne Studios and Y/Project spearheaded the consensus with leather hand bags that were scrunched-up and twisted to look as though they had collapsed in on themselves. Obtuse structured tote bags from Dion Lee and Loewe were sized up for impact and slouchier silhouettes from Lanvin and Jil Sander offer versatile options for workplace settings, each pervaded with their respective house codes. Rokh poked fun at the corporate grind, offering a luxury alternative to the traditional accordion folder commonly used in an office.
For those who fancy striking prints and patterns, opt for Diesel’s Y2K-pop art rendition of its now-iconic 1DR handbag. Prada’s floral appliqué and Givenchy’s daisy corsage are refreshing twists that exude elegance, while Chanel’s liquorice-coloured camellia ball bag is a contemporary take on a signature house motif.
