Fashion Week season can be a lot to take in. By the time the spring/summer 2027 circuit wrapped in Paris, there were certain accessories that remained particularly hard to forget. When it comes to bags, it’s always fun to see what the creative directors have in store for us each season. And then there was Anthony Vaccarello’s bittersweet final Saint Laurent show, with its stunning gold-drenched line-up and seemingly not a bag in sight.
Perhaps the most memorable came at Chanel, where Matthieu Blazy went straight to the source. Model Dyanira Hurbuscher both opened and closed the show carrying Gabrielle Chanel’s own black 2.55 handbag, borrowed from the house’s Patrimoine archives. Created in 1955, the carryall was the house’s first shoulder bag, and seeing the founder’s visibly worn original against Blazy’s latest collection gave the runway a particularly personal link to the brand’s history. And there was no shortage of newer styles either, with fresh interpretations of the house’s signature silhouettes, from updated flap bags to birdcage minaudières.
At other houses, Miu Miu sent large leather duffels and satchels down the runway, tucked casually under the arm alongside the collection’s sportswear. Meanwhile over at Dior, Jonathan Anderson gave the Lady Dior a scrunched-up finish, while new silk-scarf shoulder bags came adorned with long fringe. Ferragamo also introduced a new interpretation of its Hug bag, reworked into an East-West silhouette in crinkled double silk, while Louise Trotter took proportions to extremes at Bottega Veneta with oversized shoulder bags and enormous woven totes. For Gucci, Demna introduced a sleek new Horsebit tote in several finishes, from classic black leather to crocodile-effect, alongside a party bag featuring three Horsebit clasps—because the more Horsebits, the better. And over at Fendi, Maria Grazia Chiuri gave the Baguette another update, this time shrinking it down to a size just big enough to hold a phone. Among the newer names making their mark this season was Belgian designer Julie Kegels, who opened Paris Fashion Week fresh off her LVMH Prize win, bringing her clever designs to the runway—like combining two detachable bags into one.
From revived house signatures to entirely new silhouettes, there was plenty across the season to keep our attention. Below, Vogue Singapore rounds up the bags that caught our eye on the spring/summer 2027 runways.
