A fashion maelstrom has taken over the cobblestone streets of Milan, with the arrival of the men’s season on the calendar—kicking in motion the buzz that surrounds every fashion week. Cameras shuttering, celebrities raking in their own throng of fans and not forgetting, impeccably dressed folk littering the streets.
At Milan Fashion Week spring/summer 2025, all eyes were on Adrian Appiolaza’s menswear debut for Moschino, titled ‘Lost and Found’. A blend of fashion and nostalgia, Appiolaza’s playful approach to the office siren trend gave way to deconstructed blazers as dresses, tank tops trimmed with paperclips and jackets plastered with post-its. Prada’s idea of summer? Proportions that were off-kilter, evoking a trippy runway that featured colourful cardigans, striped pullovers and cropped jackets.
Meanwhile, Gucci’s vacation-oriented collection hallmarks bold colours and oversized collars, and hibiscus and dolphin printed bowling shirts styled over each other. Complete with stretchy swim shoes and bright chokers, the ensembles make up ideal transitional pieces from the city to the shore.
On the streets, summer (and a relaxed insouciance) was definitely in the air. Attendees emerged in co-ords—in both denim and linen—while the summer uniform of boxy button-ups and baggy pants remained to be an all-time favourite. Chunky loafers were ubiquitous, complimenting outfits from casual to formal. An honorary mention goes out to the Gucci super-skinny scarf from fall/winter 2024, an accessory that instantly elevated unbuttoned shirts and tank tops.
