On to the third leg of the fall/winter 2024 fashion cycle, the spotlight shifts over to the bubbly city of Milan. Similar to past seasons, Diesel kicked off the first day with a masterclass on maximalist layering and acid washed garments, signature trademarks of Glen Martens’ work at the house for some time now. There was also a huge focus on knits faux furs this season, distressed and treated to resemble vintage garments. Fendi followed later in the evening with a reimagined take on modern romanticism, with impeccable tailoring and Japanese-inspired silk prints leading the way. With industry favourites such as Prada and Bottega Veneta ahead, along with newly-apointed creative director Adrian Appiolaza’s debut collection for Moschino, the anticipation is certainly overflowing.
As for the show attendees, there were once again plenty of tailored blazers and jackets, layered over turtleneck sweaters and statement shirts. Long trench coats in a myriad of earth tones made their appearance, along with denim in all shades, textures and silhouettes imaginable. Unlike London, however, it seemed accessories were kept to a minimum, with the occasional mini handbag or pastel-coloured pointed pair of heels as the finishing touches to an otherwise muted ensemble.
Below, scan through the best ensembles donned by the show attendees this season, lensed by the one and only Phil Oh.
