The Academy Awards, are always a standout occasion. The glitz, glamour, celebrities, beauty and fashion looks, and, of course, the fabulous one-of-a-kind jewellery. The lead up to this particular award season has been a dramatic one, with strong contenders and just as strong moments of controversy at times. Nevertheless, the jewellery of the 2025 Oscars did not disappoint.
Perhaps the standout takeaway from tonight comes not from the ladies—not to say there weren’t some spectacular jewellery moments. Rather, it seems like what used to be simply a trend of men wearing more jewels has come to a head. Ladies and gentlemen, jewellery has now become a mainstay on the red carpet for all, gender regardless.
Some highlights of out and out glamour and brilliant styling: Zoe Saldaña, best supporting actress winner, debuting double panther Cartier high jewellery from an as-yet unreleased collection. Margaret Qualley, wearing a Chanel diamond necklace on the reverse and down her back—a growing trend. Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine, wearing a graduation of mammoth pear-cut diamonds on her neck by Lorraine Schwartz. And costume designer Paul Tazewell, who made history as the first Black man to win a costume design Oscar for his work on Wicked, wearing an exquisite 1950s vintage Fred Leighton diamond brooch on his lavalliere collar.
But perhaps the most touching details of jewellery are sentiment. Kieran Culkin, a first time nominee and winner for best supporting actor for his role in A Real Pain, did as many men do, pairing his tuxedo with a brooch. But his jewel, a custom design and creation by Kwiat and Fred Leighton, held a sweet detail: a combination of a Colombian emerald, a purple sapphire and a peridot—the birthstones of his wife and two children.
One more star who wore jewels with a story: the terrifically chic Isabella Rossellini, who had on a diamond and sapphire high jewellery necklace by Bvlgari. Rossellini’s pearl and diamond earrings were Bvlgari, too, but they came with a familial detail. They used to belong, in fact, to her mother and cinematic legend Ingrid Bergman. Bergman wore those exact earrings to the Oscars in 1969 and 1975—the latter year when she won best supporting actress.
Here, Vogue selects the standout jewellery and watch looks of the 2025 Oscars.

Mikey Madison
The 25-year-old Best Actress Oscar winner is sure to remember the night, for which she was dressed in an old Hollywood-inflected custom Dior haute couture. To finish, Madison wore archival Tiffany & Co. jewels, the star of which is the platinum-iridium and diamond necklace, which dates back to between the years 1909 and 1919.

Bruna Marquezine
Brazilian actress Bruna Marquezine offered a subtle reminder of how eternally beautiful diamonds can be with a graduated cascade of seven pear-cut diamonds on a necklace by Lorraine Schwartz.

3 / 31
Michelle Yeoh
Michelle Yeoh was dripping in diamonds by Boucheron. She wore a Plume de Paon asymmetrical earring and ring, and a Quatre Radiant Edition high jewellery tie necklace draped down her back. On her wrist, Yeoh remained dedicated to the Swiss watchmaker Richard Mille, wearing a snow-set RM 07-01.

Adrien Brody
Brody has made the statement brooch a signature part of his black tie get-up, with a particular loyalty to the creations of jewellery artist Elsa Jin.

5 / 31
Timothée Chalamet
Never one to play it entirely safe on a red carpet, Timothée Chalamet paired his butter yellow Givenchy suit with a clutch of Cartier jewels. A contemporary Panthère ring, a pair of archival Cartier Collection rings, and an archival Cartier Tradition necklace from 1998 set with sapphires, and white and yellow diamonds. Most notably, a 1994 Cartier Collection mini Baignoire watch set with diamonds, rubies and sapphires—a very of-the-moment choice.

Elle Fanning
Where Timothée Chalamet makes daring, unconventional red carpet choices with Cartier, Elle Fanning is perhaps the more traditional counterpart. An ambassador of the jewellery brand, Fanning often opts for delicate, feminine designs. Case in point, this 1958 Cartier Tradition necklace in platinum and white gold, set with diamonds, which she paired with a fine jewellery watch and Broderie de Cartier ring.

Ariana Grande
Hot off the runway Schiaparelli haute couture in soft blush tones, paired with understated diamond pieces by De Beers.

8 / 31
Margaret Qualley
Margaret Qualley made the thrilling styling move of wearing her diamonds backwards—a trend that looks set to grow in popularity. Her Chanel high jewellery necklace is a Russian-inspired design from the maison’s Le Paris Russe de Chanel collection.

9 / 31
Kieran Culkin
The first time Oscar nominee and winner wore a platinum jabot brooch by Kwiat and Fred Leighton, set with a pear-cut Colombian emerald, a cushion-cut sapphire, and square-cut peridot that are the birthstones of his wife and two children.

10 / 31
Colman Domingo
Domingo has emerged as a playful and faultless exemplar of red carpet style. For the Oscars, the actor wore an Omega Speedmaster Moonwatch in Canopus gold and a clutch of jewelled treasures by Boucheron. An archival ribbon clip from 1956, and an archival gold rope chain bracelet with tasseled ends from 1946; and contemporary designs like a Fuzzy the Leopard Cat cocktail ring.

11 / 31
Isabella Rossellini
The ne plus ultra of cinematic nepo babies wore sumptuous Bvlgari past and present. Pearl and diamond earrings that her mother, Ingrid Bergman, wore to the Oscars in 1969 and 1975; and a contemporary sapphire and diamond high jewellery necklace.

12 / 31
Andrew Garfield
Andrew Garfield went with subtle, coordinating touches with this Gucci suit: a Jaeger-LeCoultre Reverso Tribute Duoface Calendar in pink gold, and a David Yurman pendant set with tiger’s eye.

Coralie Fargeat
The French director of The Substance wore a design from Boucheron’s Nature Triomphante high jewellery collection: the Rosée necklace, fully paved with diamonds on white gold.

Terrific emeralds are always a sight to behold. Case in point: Connie Nielsen’s vintage emerald necklace from Joseph Saidian & Sons.

15 / 31
Demi Moore
The rich embroidery of Demi Moore’s custom Armani Privé gown almost made an understatement of her diamond jewels, which very aptly are by Chopard from the Red Carpet collection of high jewellery.

16 / 31
Cynthia Erivo
There’s an opulent mix of details and textures in Erivo’s look, from the deep emerald green velvet of her Louis Vuitton gown, to the ornate nail art. Adding to the glamorous mix: rings, earrings and a bangle by Italian jeweller Roberto Coin.

17 / 31
Doja Cat
On the red carpet, Doja Cat brought a solar dose of colour with a 34.00-carat yellow diamond high jewellery necklace by Messika, with earrings to match.

A prolific actress, Zoe Saldaña hit a career high at the Oscars with a win in the best supporting actress category. To mark the moment, Saldaña debuted a Cartier high jewellery design from the upcoming final chapter of the brand’s Nature Sauvage collection.

20 / 31
Julianne Hough
Making the case for diamonds that do the talking. Julianne Hough wore 7-carat cushion-cut diamond drop earrings by Martin Katz.

21 / 31
Felicity Jones
A great example of glamorous understatement: Felicity Jones let the metallic textures of her Armani Privé gown shine, accenting with simple Boucheron Vendôme Liseré jewels that frame diamonds with black lacquer.

22 / 31
Kit Connor
Kit Connor cleared a high style bar with ease, joining two very unlikely types of design in his look. The first, a very classical 1960s vintage Boucheron brooch in platinum, gold and diamonds from the maison’s private collection. The second, the super sporty, racing-inspired, square chronograph that is the TAG Heuer Monaco.

23 / 31
Paul Tazewell
No surprises that Paul Tazewell, the Oscar-winning costume designer for Wicked, would be handily dressed. Tazewell referenced Black dandies of the past—the theme of the upcoming Met Gala, by the way—and Yves Saint Laurent’s 1966 Le Smoking tuxedo. That classicism and ferocious elegance was topped off by a sumptuous vintage Fred Leighton diamond brooch, which Tazewell wore at his neck.

24 / 31
Lily-Rose Depp
A longtime face of Chanel, it’s no surprises that Lily-Rose Depp looked to the Parisian maison for her first time attending the Academy Awards. She paired an haute couture dress with a diamond necklace by Chanel high jewellery.

25 / 31
Penélope Cruz
Cruz wore custom Chanel, inspired by a look from 1992. In addition to high jewellery earrings and a ring also by the maison, she smartly pinned the Soleil 19 Aout brooch, set with a 22.10-carat yellow diamond, to the top of her dress as an accent to the design’s jewel design buttons.

26 / 31
Lupita Nyong'o
A preponderance of pearls in Lupita Nyong’o’s full Chanel look for the Oscars. An haute couture gown trimmed with pearls, and matched with pearl jewellery—some of which was even worked into her hair.

27 / 31
Robert Downey Jr.
Robert Downey Jr. is never one to shy away from a fun brooch. For the Oscars, he wore an archival Tiffany & Co. Jean Schlumberger strawberry design, paired with a Tiffany Lock ring and an Elsa Peretti Split ring in yellow gold worn on his pinkie.

28 / 31
Rowoon
The Korean actor, a friend of Tiffany.& Co., wore a Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Apollo brooch, and rings from the Tiffany T1 and Tiffany Titan by Pharrell Williams collections.

29 / 31
Raye
British singer-songwriter Raye joined Doja Cat and Lisa at the Oscars’s James Bond tribute, performing a cover of Adele’s ‘Skyfall’. On the red carpet, she chose a ruby red Vivienne Westwood gown and a matching diamond and ruby Lorraine Schwartz necklace.

30 / 31
Sebastian Stan
Sebastian Stan’s dapper, classic look is a masterclass in detailed finesse. Instead of pure white, the actor opted for a cream coloured shirt, and matched it brilliantly with yellow gold pieces by Cartier. A Fauna and Flora brooch set with yellow and white diamonds, and a diamond-set Santos de Cartier timepiece worn on a leather strap.

31 / 31
Sterling K. Brown
Sterling K. Brown makes a case for understated elegance. Jewels are outstanding when they’re huge and attention-grabbing, but there is something equally chic about tempered discretion. To complement the soft ivory tuxedo jacket by Giorgio Armani, the actor wore a simple David Yurman star brooch, and an IWC Ingenieur Automatic 40.
