With the arrival of March, we are finally wrapping up this awards season with none other than the 2025 Oscars. Now in its 97th iteration, the ceremony commemorates the artistic and technical prowess shown in the world of film over the past year, with some of the biggest stars across the globe in attendance. The lead up to Hollywood’s biggest night of the year has been dramatic to say the least; from inflammatory social media scandals, shocking snubs to AI backlash, all amid the loss and devastation of the Southern California wildfires, this year’s race was certainly one to remember.
Perhaps it was fitting, then, that many of our stars opted for more simple, understated looks tonight—the preceding Oscars race had already been plenty colourful. Still, there was no shortage of beauty moments to marvel at. Elegant updos were in on the red carpet tonight, with the likes of Ariana Grande, Lupita Nyong’o and Elle Fanning each wearing artfully styled buns for an air of sophistication. Others landed on more bold hairstyles, from Euphoria actress Storm Reid’s slick kiss curl to the ethereal Anok Yai’s spiky pixie cut. There were, of course, a handful of more daring beauty moments. Take Cynthia Erivo’s manicure of the night, or Miley Cyrus debuting a brand-new set of bleached brows. Meanwhile, American musician Omar Apollo stole the show with his gender-defying glam beat, complete with a stunning black statement veil.
Below, peruse Vogue Singapore’s best beauty looks from the 2025 Oscars.

Lupita Nyong'o
To match her custom pearl-lined Chanel gown, Lupita Nyong’o elevated her elegant updo with a constellation of iridescent pearls as generous sweeps of lustrous highlighter on her cheek and brow bones left her gleaming as she waltzed down the Oscars red carpet.

Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez opted for a muted, soft-glam nude beat for tonight’s festivities, completing her look with a glossy, side-parted bob styled in soft waves.

Anok Yai
Supermodel Anok Yai’s luminous complexion definitely caught our eye tonight—as did her stylish pixie cut.

Ariana Grande
Repping her very own R.E.M Beauty, Ariana Grande wore a dreamy, monochromatic look tonight to match her pale pink Schiaparelli gown, topped off by a glossy lip and fluttery lashes.

5 / 10
Cynthia Erivo
No red carpet beauty discussion is complete without a mention of Cynthia Erivo’s stunning manicures, and tonight is no different. Matching the structured, sculptural quality of her velvet Louis Vuitton gown, the Wicked actress displayed a set of gleaming gold talons, complete with emerald green accents and a stunning timepiece charm.

Elle Fanning
Actress Elle Fanning opted for a subdued, natural look tonight, wearing only the softest echoes of vintage glamour in the form of thick cat eyeliner and rosy blush.

7 / 10
Omar Apollo
While others shied away bolder looks tonight, musician and Queer star Omar Apollo went full glam, saturating his cheekbones with blush and dark eyeliner. The cherry on top? A statement birdcage veil, perched atop sharp, carefully gelled lines in his hair.

Lily-Rose Depp
Like her lingerie-inspired Chanel gown, Nosferatu‘s leading lady kept things barely there, sporting only a soft smoky eye and nude lip. As for her mane, Depp took a page out of old Hollywood glamour, parting her blonde locks to the side in voluminous waves.

Storm Reid
Euphoria actress Storm Reid went for a stylish slicked-back ponytail on tonight’s red carpet, leaving a statement with a single, off-centre kiss curl.
