Men’s fine jewellery has been enjoying a renaissance of late, evident in the sartorial pursuits of style icons like Timothée Chalamet and A$AP Rocky. As fashion moves towards the dissolution of gender boundaries, the way we think of jewellery has evolved too.

Grand Parisian maisons like Boucheron and Chaumet have, for a few years now, shown high jewellery on men and women alike. In the highest reaches of jewellery, some of the most cutting-edge designs approach the body with a gender-neutral stance.

Jewellers are naming male stars as ambassadors, too. Thai actor and singer Jeff Satur is one recent example—he was recently announced as a new ambassador for Cartier.

And the red carpet stylings of male celebrities reflects this shift. See, for example, Chalamet’s custom necklace created by Cartier for the premiere of Wonka. Or even the preponderance of brooches, which were the breakout must-have style on the awards season circuit this year.

As far as adornment for men goes, things have clearly changed. Off of the high end of these big ticket events, though, the evolution has trickled down into precious everyday pieces. The domination of heavy chains and leather wraps has been replaced with chic fine jewellery that can add a touch of elegance to any wearer and outfit, gender regardless.
