The 75th edition of the Cannes Film Festival has delivered blockbuster premieres and, as always, memorable red carpet fashion. Margaret Qualley did her bit for the cause, having returned to the prestigious festival with a new film named Stars At Noon, directed by Claire Denis, in which she co-stars with Joe Alwyn. “I’m so excited to be here,” Qualley tells Vogue with enthusiasm. “It’s my first time having a movie in competition here, and I couldn’t be more honoured or thrilled.”
To walk the red carpet at the premiere, the 27-year-old actor–a long-time Chanel ambassador–wore a breathtaking full look by the Parisian maison. She accessorised her smoky grey organza petticoat dress with ruffles (look 36 from the brand’s fall/winter 2021 couture collection, to be exact), with Signature Ultime drop earrings in 18K white gold and diamonds, and classic black pumps. “I feel like a princess and I’m hoping I look like one, too,” Qualley tells Vogue ahead of her big moment. “I love how classic and timeless Chanel is–the designs are so thoughtful and incredibly elegant.”
And what about the glam? “I’m a long-time Isabelle Adjani fan, so we were trying to reference her with the hair and make-up,” explains the actor. Qualley opted for a classic beauty look with a crimson lip and brushed-up brows. Her hair was left curly and natural, tied back into a loose ponytail with a giant black organza ribbon to keep it in place.
