It’s unmistakable; the past month was a testament to some of the greatest minds in the science of garment making. The industry’s biggest names assembled their entourages in the lauded fashion capitals for the seasonal display of their spring/summer 2023 collections, some taking a more theatrical turn: contemporary renditions of fairy-tales were on display à la Thom Browne, the naked body transformed into a working canvas at Coperni and London saw a series of touching tributes in light of the late Queen’s passing. But every season brings with it a twinkle of its own elsewhere: in the vein of the glinting guest list peppering the front row at every show.
This season was no different; it saw a throng of A-list personalities descend onto the streets of all four cities—from New York and London to Milan and Paris—leaving fans and enthusiasts to witness it all in a starstruck mood. But a closer inspection might gleefully reveal the clear rise in Korean celebrity faces in attendance. Apart from fashion darlings such as the girls of Blackpink and IU—all global ambassadors for the luxury houses themselves—the scene was brimming with the likes of many other K-idols and actors, some even making their names known from the runway itself.
But whilst some may have only managed to squeeze out a day from their busy schedules to attend to their invitations, others were sure to make an entire vacation out of it, blending right into the streets of New York or living their Parisian dream with a croissant in hand. With so many of them swarming the streets of the fashion capitals, it seemed only natural that we would be fed generously by means of endless visuals—right from the stars who took to the ‘gram with ease when it came to updating their fans on their daily affairs.
And trust them to do their off-duty uploads with sartorial sense too. Layer-led ensembles primed for the autumn cold were spotted on the boys such as actor-singers Cha Eun Woo and Hwang Min Hyun whilst chunky boots were all the rage for Red Velvet’s Joy and Blackpink’s Jisoo. Heading to the wintry parts of the globe yourself? From Parisian chic accessories to leather separates, we’ve chronicled some of the best style inspo to emulate below, as seen on your favourite Korean celebrities.
