The highly anticipated New York Fashion Week street style is back in full swing and it is living up to the hype. This time, the event has attracted a global crowd of fashion enthusiasts thanks to presentations by Proenza Schouler, Peter Do and Tom Ford. While mainstays such as Coach and Jason Wu rule the New York fashion scene, labels on the rise like Dion Lee, Collina Strada, and Telfar are ones to keep an eye out for too.
With Fendi celebrating the 25th anniversary of the Baguette bag for its spring/summer 2023 collection, more celebrations are peppering the fashion month calendar. Case in point? The debut of Vogue World: New York for Vogue’s 130th anniversary on September 12. As 100 designers offer their collections within five and a half days, look forward to a jam-packed week in the city that never sleeps.
Off the runway, the star-studded streets delivered a spectacle of sequins, sheer dresses, as well as a mix of graphic prints. Bold colours and statement bags reigned supreme—an unanimous dress code of the downtown crowd. As it seems, New York City, like Sarah Jessica Parker herself, still covets the classic silhouette of a Fendi Baguette bag. Timeless wardrobe essentials and monochromatic colour palettes in the form of blazer jackets and slip dresses were also sported by show-goers in the concrete jungle.
