The cat is out of the bag, literally, as Cartier yesterday dropped the surprise announcement that Blackpink’s Jisoo was now a member of its Panthère community. The singer who is South Korea’s fourth most followed music artiste—60 million followers and counting—joins a global cast that includes Annabelle Wallis, Ella Balinska, Chang Chen, Mariacarla Boscono, and Yasmine Sabri.
Jisoo’s strong, sunny persona and determined character perfectly embodies the values of the Cartier Panthère woman.
“I’m so glad to be a part of Cartier’s grand journey. It’s truly an honour and pleasure for me to join the Panthère tribe, where everyone proves their strength of character. I can’t wait to share Panthère’s great beauty with everyone,” says Jisoo.

It’s a major deal for sure, although by no means Jisoo’s first. She has been a Dior global brand ambassador since 2021, front the fashion house’s beauty line since 2019. Her appearance at Dior’s Fall 22 show in Seoul was one of the top highlights of the event as fans and fashion onlookers couldn’t stop raving about how regal she looked in that black lace gown from Dior’s Winter 22/23 collection.
Accessorising with a pair of slingback heels and a classic Lady Dior handbag, she kept her look day-appropriate by going jewellery-free. Dior does have a thriving fine and high jewellery division, with chic modern collections like Rose de Vents, Bois de Rose, Gem Dior, and more, but Jisoo has never been seen wearing them—and now we finally know why.

Says Arnaud Carrez, Cartier’s senior vice president and chief marketing officer, “When we wanted to embody the magnetic aura of the panther, our attention was instinctively drawn to Jisoo. With her self-assured style, she is the voice of a new generation of creatives who dare to show their different talents. She is an artist who takes on her role with great creative freedom, never limiting herself.”

As the newest face of the Cartier Panthère, the singer made her debut in the maison’s brand campaign wearing a La Panthère jewellery watch and a Panthère de Cartier pendant necklace, completing the look with a stack of two Panthère bracelets.

But true Jisoo fans must have seen this Cartier ambassador role coming from miles away, since her Instagram feed is constantly updated with a plethora of different fashion looks, a number of which was accented almost exclusively with multiple Cartier creations.

They were mostly time-honoured classics. A Trinity ring here, a Tank watch there… But Jisoo has also shared selfies and portraits where she wore a Ballon Bleu timepiece, the iconic Juste Un Clou bracelet, even the maison’s newest Clash de Cartier pieces. Jisoo also wore Cartier eyewear when she traipsed through Paris Disneyland in March this year.

Other Cartier timepieces she has been seen wearing include the Tank Francaise and the classic Panthère de Cartier with its ultra-slinky bracelet.

Moreover, word on the street is that 2022 is going to be a huge year for the Panthère de Cartier, and with Jisoo’s appointment as its latest brand ambassador, along with new creations in the pipelines, this will be the collection to watch if you’re holding out for a Cartier this year.
