Mark your calendar for the livestream of the Dior fall 2022 ready-to-wear collection happening later today. Presented in South Korea for the first time ever since 2007, crowd favourite A-listers such as Dior’s global ambassador and Blackpink’s vocalist Jisoo Kim, singer and actress Suzy Bae and Olympic champion Yuna Kim are all expected to grace the showing.
The house’s runway venue of choice? The lush grounds of Ewha Women’s University situated in the heart of Seoul, a private institution for women founded in 1886. The location serves as a nod to the strong bond and ongoing partnership between the maison and the school as part of the Women@Dior initiative, a mentorship and education programme founded in 2017.
With Dior’s creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri’s inclination to seek inspiration from influential women past and present for many of her shows, it comes as no surprise that the founder’s younger sister Catherine Dior, who joined the French Revolution, served as Chiuri’s primary muse for the Dior fall 2022 collection.
