Jet-setting actress Fiona Xie is no stranger to glitz and glamour, so when Vogue asked her to model a figure-hugging, sequinned Valentino turtleneck for us, it’s like she slipped on a second skin.
“I love [this turtleneck] as a base. Especially when you go to cold-weather countries, it’s so good to pack an essential piece that goes with everything,” she enthuses after putting the turtleneck on. “It’s kind of like your boyfriend—hugs you tight!”
Not a stranger to the eccentric side of high fashion, Xie is a daring risk taker when it comes to her wardrobe. Naturally, then, pairing the turtleneck with a green Halpern suit was entirely in her milieu.
“When I put it on, it’s immediately, like, rock and roll! But the faux leather makes it sustainable,” she says. And the bold emerald colour certainly helps. “You need just a boost of colour these days… It’s a little bit more fun to inject that into your everyday life.”

For the next look, she switched from serving ’70s disco glam to a more pared-down look. Pairing the ultra-glam sequinned look with perfectly faded jeans—and a buttery soft, wildly fringed Bottega Veneta clutch—she exudes freedom, and empowerment. It’s easily one of the looks that skews closer to her personal style, she says. “I am a little bit more eclectic. I like both over-the-top and casual clothes.”
