The tightened COVID-19 restrictions have hit us all, but the F&B industry might be one of the most affected due to the dine-in ban. Vogue Singapore always looks to support local businesses, so we are collaborating with Singapore’s top restaurants to offer our readers special deals. Not only can you order from their takeaway menus at a discounted price, but you will also get a complimentary copy of our May issue with your Vogue-exclusive meal. Having to stay at home will hopefully look better when you can enjoy a slice of comforting cheesy-tomato goodness while reading our interview with Awkwafina. And really, this is the yeast we could do for you.
Drunken Farmer

Bistro Drunken Farmer is best known for two things—their natural wines and their sourdough-inspired dishes—both of which you can enjoy from the comfort of your home. Start off your meal with the Sourdough Karaage, where slow-marinated chicken thigh is coated in sourdough batter and fried to a crisp. Drizzle the home-made kimchi mayo dip over it and wait to hear the satisfying crunch as you bite into the juicy meat.
The star of the show is the classic Margherita pizza, crowned with fresh local basil and house-made temple stracciatella. Most of the time, the crust is what gets left behind on the plate after everything else has been devoured. But with Drunken Farmer’s sourdough, it is impossible to dismiss the pizza base as just an afterthought. There is a pleasant chew and slight tanginess that complement the tomato sauce perfectly.

Of course, who can forget the wines? To round off this gastronomic affair, you get a choice between a glass of house red or white. The Marcel Richaud A La Source 2019 from France is a light-medium red fragranced with aromas from black fruits like cherries, blueberries, and prune, with an undertone of black pepper. Meanwhile, the Bodega Cueva by Mariano Tardana 2019 from Spain will leave refreshingly crisp notes of green melon and white flowers on your tongue.
Available until 13 June, Drunken Farmer’s Vogue Supports Local Menu includes 1 x Sourdough Karaage, 1 x Margherita pizza, and 1 glass of house red or white wine at $52 nett excluding delivery. It comes with a copy of Vogue Singapore’s May issue.

Publico Ristorante

Known for their contemporary take on traditional Italian cuisine, the restaurant is offering a takeaway set perfect for two people. A date night at home? Sign us up.

A must-try pizza is definitely the famous Burrata. The creamy buttered cheese will melt in your mouth, while the cherry tomatoes add a sweet-sour kick and the arugula contributes a herby finish. Meat-lovers, you will be spoiled by the Carne, featuring slivers of pancetta, salami, bacon, pork sausage, and bresaola atop Publico’s signature thin pizza crust. For those with spicier taste buds, the Diavola might the way to go, featuring spicy salami paired with chili oil.

It’s hard to beat the woodfired pizzas, but the pastas put up an impressive fight. The Vodka Tortelli is a classic, featuring house-made pasta in a sharp tomato vodka sauce, topped off with roasted eggplant and shaved scamorza. If you’re in the mood for something without tomatoes, the Paccheri Basil Pesto with black olives, mushroom, and parmesan might the way to go. A slice of rich Tiramisu ends this meal on the perfect note.

Lucali BYGB
No dine-in? No problem with Lucali BYGB’s 24-hour island-wide delivery, available every day of the week. Even with the tightened restrictions, you can still recreate the restaurant’s ambience at home with a classic white candle and a thoughtful playlist curated by owner Gibran Baydoun himself—both included in your takeaway set. It’s not quite the same as being there in person, but the food also goes a long way towards capturing Lucali BYGB’s unpretentious fine-dining charm.

The restaurant’s signature super-sized pizzas are on hand to satisfy your round-the-clock cravings. The 18-inch Original Pizza Pie is topped with three types of cheese, a secret ‘four-hour tomato sauce’, and a smattering of fine basil (garlic is available as an add-on). The dough is perfectly baked with just the right amount of chew, its crispiness the ideal backdrop for the tart tomato sauce and oozing cheese.

The pizza takes a while to finish, but on hand is a light Ramona grapefruit wine spritzer to sip in between bites. Made with natural wine and no added sugars, the spritzer is a refreshing palate cleanser for the carb feast. And you will definitely want to save some space in your stomach for dessert when you catch sight of—or simply smell—the Apple Hand Pies. A treasure trove of caramelised apples nestled within a flaky, golden-brown crust—we could sing praises of this pastry all day. So simple, but so good.
Available until 31 May, Lucali BYGB’s Vogue Supports Local Menu includes 1 x 18-inch Original Pizza Pie, 2 x Apple Hand Pie, 1 x Ramona grapefruit wine spritzer at $65++ excluding delivery. It comes with a copy of Vogue Singapore’s May issue.
