Held at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey, the 2022 MTV VMAs and music’s big night, delivered up some stellar acts and fashion moments. The trio of hosts? LL Cool J, Nicki Minaj, and Jack Harlow, and the highly anticipated performers included Blackpink, Bad Bunny, J Balvin, Lizzo, Panic! At the Disco, Maneskin, and Anitta. The most nominated musicians, up for the prestigious video of the year accolade, were Harry Styles, Taylor Swift, and Lil Nas X—to which Swift ended up bagging.
But before all your favorite performers hit the main VMAs stage, however, Hollywood’s top stars made an appearance on the red carpet in their glitziest and boldest outfits. The VMAs have a history of creating memorable ensembles, after all—remember Lady Gaga’s meat dress, or Lil’ Kim’s purple nipple pasties?—so this year was no exception on the fashion front.
