Last week, Glassons celebrated the launch of its latest drop, Sweet Nothing, alongside Vogue Singapore at Sunset Sessions in Sentosa. Held at Tanjong Beach Club, the occasion offered a first look at the brand’s romantic take on summer fashion, with guests wearing lace-trimmed separates and satin pieces that tap into some of the season’s biggest trends.

For those who have yet to come across Glassons, the New Zealand-born label was founded in New Zealand’s South Island in 1918. Since then, it has built a strong following across Australia and New Zealand, particularly among younger shoppers drawn to its approach to everyday style. Much of the brand’s appeal comes from striking that sweet balance between versatile basics and trendier designs, with pieces that can be styled in myriad ways but always have a little special something, whether it’s an unexpected detail or an interesting trim. The label has been making its way onto the sartorial radar here too, having launched its dedicated online store here in 2025 before hosting its first local pop-up earlier this year.
As its name suggests, Sweet Nothing was made with the soft girl in mind, with dainty lace and ribbon trims adorning fluid satin fabrics. It also taps into the current fascination with lingerie-inspired styles, particularly the return of camisoles and slip skirts as everyday staples. Among the highlights are matching satin sets and chiffon blouses, with the latter offering a breezier option for the warm weather.

There’s also a slightly more playful side to the lineup, particularly in how it approaches some of the silhouettes making a comeback this season. And with the current appetite for whimsy and brighter hues, there’s all the more reason to play with contrasting styles. Take the tailored capri pants, which bring a distinctly ’90s feel and make an interesting pairing with the lace underwire bodysuit. The cropped satin blouse is another standout, giving a basic silhouette a more fun finish with its detailing. And while the range may lean into all things romantic, the occasional twist keeps the looks from feeling overly sweet, which is perhaps why Glassons resonates with so many in the first place.
