Another dog will soon enter the ring to battle for streaming service dominance in Singapore. Disney has announced plans to roll out their long-awaited platform, Disney+, to Singapore audiences on 23 February 2021. A subscription to the service will cost viewers $11.98 per month, or $119.98 per year.
Carrying titles from iconic entertainment brands like Disney (naturally), Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars, and National Geographic, the service will unlock more than 500 movies and 15,000 episodes of content to viewers throughout the country. Disney+ will also integrate a sixth brand tile, Star, onto its platform, intending it as more of a general entertainment source for families and young adults, featuring TV shows and films from ABC, FX, Freeform, Searchlight, and 20th Century Studios. Singapore is the first market globally to launch Disney+ with all six content brands.
Whether it’s your intention to celebrate the back catalogues of the lauded company or discover your new favourite original show, Disney+ will offer viewers a library overflowing with compelling content. Classics like Mulan, Aladdin, Beauty and the Beast, Finding Nemo, and The Incredibles will be just a click away, as will all 12 Star Wars films and every Marvel Studio movie ever made. The service will also see the premiere of highly-anticipated upcoming flicks like Pixar’s Soul and Disney’s Raya and the Last Dragon.
As per the absolute deluge of announcements that came out of this week’s 2020 Disney Investor Day, there will also be more than enough Disney+ originals and exclusives to see you through to infinity and beyond. Shows like WandaVision, The Mandalorian, Loki, and The Right Stuff will be introduced throughout 2021, accompanied by movies like The Lady and the Tramp.
Between the copious amounts of content available on both Netflix, Amazon Prime, and now, Disney+, 2021 is already looking brighter. Spring audiences in Singapore will be absolutely spoiled for choice.
