Chanel invited guests to Dakar, the capital of Senegal, to unveil its Métiers d’art collection amidst a three-day celebration of everything the country has to offer. “By choosing Dakar, the house wishes to make the savoir-faire of its Métiers d’art resonate with the artistic and cultural energy of the city,” Chanel said when it first announced the show, which Vogue’s Luke Leitch described as a milestone “both for the house that presented it and the country that hosted it”.
Along with guests including Pharell Williams, Naomi Campbell, Nile Rodgers, Whitney Peak and British Vogue’s editor-in-chief Edward Enninful, photographer German Larkin was on the ground in Dakar. See his pictures from Senegal below.
