“Welcome home.” This comes as a standard greeting in most hotels, even when the room in question is thousands of miles from your actual home and yours for only a night or two. But what happens when checking in begins to feel less like a fleeting stay and more like actually living there?
For all the attention lavished on luxury hotel suites—decked with separate salons, fully stocked maxi bars, as well as bathrooms akin to private spas—perhaps the ultimate upgrade is simpler: to stop feeling like you’re staying in a hotel at all.

That is the idea behind Capella Manor, a 576-square-metre standalone residence within the lush grounds of Capella Singapore, a One Michelin Key property on Sentosa Island. Here, there are no corridors to navigate on the way to breakfast, no shared gardens to cross after an afternoon by the pool. Instead, Manor guests have a front door of their own, three ensuite bedrooms, a lap pool, and enough living space to enjoy the comforts of home.
The Capella Manor isn’t just a larger room, but a private residence within a resort—giving guests the freedom to dip in and out of hotel life without forgoing its pleasures. For families and friends who book it, the living and dining spaces invite everyone to gather together, while the lounge, reading room and three bedrooms offer places to retreat to.
Designed for living

The residential sensibility threads through the interiors, which were refreshed by Australian designer Simone Haag. Eschewing polished uniformity, Haag approached the Capella Manor with the eye of someone designing the home of a well-travelled aesthete.
The largely neutral palette forms a beautiful canvas for rare timbers, subtly patterned wallpapers and fabrics, Asian-inspired elements and pewter accents. Vintage pieces add another layer of personality, including the 1930s Swedish Carved Monk Chairs. It is a direction that makes the Manor’s expansive footprint feel a bit more intimate, imparting a message that, for however long you stay, the place is truly yours.

Nature is an integral part of the architecture, too. Across Capella Singapore’s 30-acre grounds, contemporary design sits amid dense tropical greenery and the restored Tanah Merah buildings dating to the 1880s. At the Manor, landscape and architecture become increasingly intertwined: foliage envelops the residence, creating a cocooning, restorative escape.
More than a home
Of course, even the loveliest home could benefit from a full service team. At Capella Manor, a dedicated Manor Culturist provides round-the-clock butler service bring hotel-grade hospitality right to your doorstep. Breakfast can be served around your own table, dinner can be whipped up by a private chef. Sunrise yoga and poolside picnics can all be arranged without leaving the four walls of the Manor.

Beyond the comforts of the residence, each stay comes with a choice of two complimentary experiences across three curated collections: Wellness Sanctuary, All Things Singapore and Family Retreat.
At Capella Manor, the little things can make a stay memorable, whether it’s taking time to unwind with a private yoga session or sound bath, gathering over a hotpot prepared by your own chef, or discovering Singapore’s street art on a guided tour. For families, the experiences are designed to create opportunities for spending quality time together, from Peranakan tile painting to making shrinky dink charms. And while the little ones are kept entertained, babysitting services allow parents to enjoy some time to themselves, whether that means unwinding at the spa or simply taking a well-deserved break.
When you do want to venture out, Capella Singapore’s acclaimed bars, restaurants, spa and experiences are a short walk (or buggy ride) away. Indulge in the vibrant champagne Sunday brunch at Fiamma restaurant, savour a sundowner at the well-loved Bob’s Bar (where you can sip with roaming peacocks around you), or book in a treatment at the award-winning Auriga Spa.
The Manors at Capella Singapore collection also extends to two Colonial Manors—restored former military residences where heritage architecture meets modern style. Together, the three point to an interesting direction: More than a hotel trying to perfect every element of the stay, it’s about crafting an experience that makes you forget you’re staying somewhere else at all.
