It’s sure to be a treat as The Strokes, Pink Pantheress and Taemin are also on the roster. And of course, the best is saved for last as K-pop luminaries BigBang finally return to the stage. This marks the first time the group comes together after three years, in line with their 20th anniversary. But that’s not all—Laufey, FKA Twigs and Little Simz have a setlist lined up as well.
Big names seem to rule the West but don’t be fooled—music festivals in Asia has no problem drawing music heavyweights from across the globe, performing right on home ground. The region has built a stronghold in the festival scene over recent years, creating unique festival experiences that cater to vast music genres. There’s one for every genre under the sun—hardcore EDM listeners will take delight in Tomorrowland’s debut in Thailand, while ardent rock fans can choose their pick from the Fuji Rock Festival and Hammer Sonic. Meanwhile, the gates at Wonderfruit are open to those simply down for a good time.

As it celebrates its 10th anniversary, this year’s theme ‘Decade of Dominion’ will bring the walls of NICE Jakarta down with its solid lineup of household names like Red Jumpsuit Apparatus, Memphis May Fire and New Found Glory all under one roof.

Seoul Jazz: 22 to 24 May
Seoul gathers acclaimed global jazz voices all in one place at Olympic Park, with Janelle Monae, Jon Batiste, FKJ and powerhouse musician Herbie Hancock are headlining the weekend. The yearly affair sees local voices take the stage as well, from the likes of DxS from Seventeen, Epik High and Yerin Baek.

The biggest music festival in Japan returns to Naeba Ski Resort with a stellar lineup of rock and indie artists. Known for its diverse programmes where live music, art, food and wellness gather, the week-long event returns to The Fields in Pattaya, Thailand.
