In just a blink of an eye, another menswear season has come to an end. This season had a little of everything, from surprise shows to tear-jerking goodbyes. In Milan, there was fervent anticipation from show attendees as recently-appointed creative director Adrian Appiolaza showed his debut menswear collection for Moschino. Titled ‘Lost and Found’, the collection took an unserious approach to modern day style trends, poking fun at traditional design principles. Over in Paris, A$AP Rocky’s showcase for his mysterious collective AWGE saw models don outfits that resembled the rapper’s distinctive personal style, the garments filled with satirical references to American culture and politics. And who could forget Dries Van Noten’s final menswear collection, which saw models appear in sensual separates and fantastical florals that bloomed in all the prettiest hues. It was a bittersweet yet perfect end to a magical era, one that would be remembered for ages.
With summer staples and subversive styling anchoring most of the collections, this season proved to be a strong outing on the accessories front. Brands such as Amiri, Charles Jeffrey Loverboy and Louis Vuitton showed portable bags in various whimsical shapes, inspired by everyday items. Dior Men and Doublet presented options that were heavily embellished with keyrings, charms and assorted trinkets, a nod to the accessory trend made popular in previous seasons. On feet, it seemed hybrid footwear was still going strong, with classy derbies and loafers being offered in casual sneaker or mule iterations. Intricate jewellery was also present, in the form of layered chain bracelets, sleek pins and statement rings. It was a cohesive yet considered approach towards maximalism, and a refreshing change of pace from the “quiet luxury” direction that has flooded the zeitgeist over the past year.
Below, peruse some of the statement accessories spotted on the men’s spring/summer 2025 runways.
