Alongside its Dempsey Hill and City Hall outposts, Violet Oon finds a new home on level four of ION Orchard. An expansion of its previous unit, it is an enchanting destination to discover the nation’s rich culinary heritage. Step foot inside and you’re transported to a grand estate home reminiscent of the colonial era. You’ll find there’s a new extension to its main dining hall—a verandah-inspired enclave. Adorned with Peranakan tiles, emerald-stained wood and the restaurant’s signature gold trim, it’s an elevated haven for special occasions, intimate tête-à-tête’s and the like.

The refreshed space is accompanied by new menu offerings. Violet Oon’s beloved High Tea experience makes its return, updated with a range of Peranakan delights that’s a feast from start to finish. It’s a refined balance of sweet and savoury–enjoy bite-sized servings of kueh kosui, bika ambon and ang ku kueh alongside kuay pie tee and dry laksa. Regular patrons can savour its signature dishes from the likes of ayam buah keluak and the beef hor fun, exclusively available at ION Orchard.

Consider its melt-in-your-mouth cookies, of the Sugee or Spice Island Ginger variety, which bring a kick with every bite. The cake selection is a feast for the eyes (and stomach). You’ll find comforting classics like the Sugee Cake or Gula Melaka Crumble Cake, crafted with a rum-infused butter cake base generously crowned with cashew crumbles.
