Loewe loyalists rejoice—Southeast Asia’s first Casa Loewe has arrived on our shores. Located on the first floor of ION Orchard, the Casa Loewe Singapore boutique will feature Loewe’s full range of women’s and men’s ready-to-wear, accessories, shoes, jewellery and its newly launched line of home fragrances. Furnished with homeware and light sculptures selected by Jonathan Anderson himself, the space is an intimate retail space meets art collector’s home—complete with concrete walls, wood panels and powder pink tiling produced in Spain.
“Singapore has, for long, been a key destination for the development of Loewe in Southeast Asia where we have been present for over 25 years,” Anderson tells Vogue Singapore. “Opening a Casa Loewe in Singapore is then a natural step to bring the country into the full Loewe universe.”

The 340-square metre store will also house a pop-up space dedicated to exhibiting capsule collections and art projects. Also inhabiting the space will be a hand-dyed tapestry by American textile artist, Josh Fraught, titled ‘A Positive Light’. The artwork will feature alongside the works of eight other international artists and designers, in step with Loewe’s commitment to craft.

If the brand’s medium-defying spring/summer 2021 collection was anything to go by, it’s clear Loewe is ahead of the curve when it comes to bridging distance within the comfort of our homes. “We are starting to progressively be more inclined to think of our homes—our homes have become even more important these days,” says Anderson. “Loewe has always tried to bridge different art forms within the home.”

Anderson is no stranger to turning a brand into more than just clothes on a runway. Since the opening of the first Casa Loewe in Madrid, the Loewe universe has grown to encompass a lifestyle and a state of mind—one that puts craft and heart first. With retail inevitably hit hard by COVID-19, Anderson remains confident in the allure of tactility and physical spaces.

“I think retail will evolve in the way it has to. Space is an intimate thing,” he says. “We will always have an urge for tangibility and I think Loewe will continue on its journey of opening homes around the world, for people to understand what we are trying to achieve as a craft brand and as a cultural brand.”
Casa Loewe Singapore is now open at 01-11A/12, ION Orchard.
