It’s the beginning of a new era for Tod’s—with a new guard in place for its fall/winter 2024 show. Succeeding Walter Chiapponi, Matteo Tamburini will debut his first show for the Italian house. On his appointment, Italian-born Tamburini expressed the close affiliation he has with the brand in a statement: “I am honoured and excited to join the Tod’s family and become part of a brand that is so closely tied to my origins and memories. I identify with the brand’s values and the continuous pursuit of high quality and style it has undertaken, and I look forward to contributing with my expertise.”
A veteran in the industry who boasts an impressive resume—most recently at Bottega Veneta since 2017—there’s no doubt that Tamburini will bring forth a fresh new perspective aligned with the ethos of Italian craftsmanship and codes upheld by the label. His much-anticipated debut will also likely see a flurry of celebrities in attendance—think house ambassadors Joy from Red Velvet and Chinese actor Xiao Zhan as well as new friendly faces to witness the turn of a page.
