With the fall/winter 2023 season in tow, we’ve been swiftly blazing through the various fashion capitals from New York to London and most recently, Milan. And it’s been a spectacular scene as the Italian city—home to a bevy of industry titans—has called upon some of the most recognisable designers to dream up their best sartorial creations for the runway. Glenn Martens led the charge on the first evening at Diesel: where bold, ferocious explorations of denim were mixed into sexually evocative silhouettes and prints. Meanwhile, Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons proved they were a handsome pair once again as the beautiful simplicity of nature made for a stirring contrast against concrete and strict tailoring.
But with each and every show fulfilling its hour on the roster, what never goes amiss is the unmistakable buzz associated with the celebrities in attendance. Where a throng of A-list names—always impeccably dressed of course—make their way into the various locations, to take their seats in the front row. Each one, seizing the opportunity to be one of the first few individuals with the privilege of witnessing the diverse and marvellous collections up-close, as they debut on the runway.
Their glamorous appearances certainly always brings an ebullient atmosphere to the scene, with paparazzi and fans alike waiting just outside the shows to catch a glimpse of their favourite stars. Milan this past week has seen a number of fabulous appearances; Dua Lipa alone made time for two shows, gracing both Prada and GCDS with her attendance. Meanwhile at Gucci, the mood was joyfully elevated by the presence of Dakota Johnson, Maneskin, A$AP Rocky and newly-crowned ambassador Hanni from NewJeans. A growing number of global stars from Japan, South Korea and China were also spotted in the crowd, from Song Kang and Jeon Somi at Prada to Xiao Zhan and Miyoshi Ayaka at Gucci.
