Our end-of-year celebrations might look a little different this year, but some things don’t have to change; including dressing up for the holidays. After all, whether you’re counting down to the new year among strangers in a club (by now an unfamiliar concept) or an intimate dinner at home, it’s about wearing what makes you feel good. Serving up glitz and glamour in spades, the new Prada Holiday 2021 capsule collection is designed to spark joy. Think: shimmering crystals, metallic finishes and sequins against inky blacks and soft pastel hues.
Spanning ready-to-wear and accessories, Prada’s womenswear and menswear offerings will stand you in good stead for all your upcoming socially distanced celebrations. Take your pick from high-shine options such as sequin-embroidered and embellished tops, jackets and trousers. For those planning to stay in, the collection also includes a range of hooded jackets, joggers, and jersey T-shirts to elevate your leisurewear.

When it comes to accessories, Prada, of course, does not disappoint. The Prada Holiday 2021 collection introduces new variations on some of the house’s popular silhouettes. The Cleo bag is embellished with sequins in one version, and adorned with luminous crystals in another. The mesh tote bag, available in an array of sizes, is sleek and stylish with a leather trim, and a removable inner pouch for added functionality.
This drop also offers a diverse selection of silver and sparkly shoes to help you put your best foot forward. Make like Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz and sprinkle some magic with everything from sling-back pumps to chunky creeper-style sneakers and a studded reimagining of the classic penny loafer.
As the proverbial cherry on top, the capsule boasts bejewelled takes on styles that have come to be associated with the Italian fashion brand, including puffy maxi headbands, bucket hats and its Symbole earrings; as a clip-on, stud, or hoop.
To accompany the collection, Prada has released ‘A Midwinter’s Night Dream’. With an original story and script written by Mary Harron—of American Psycho fame—and directed by long-time Prada collaborator Glen Luchford, the video campaign stars Julia Garner, Shira Haas, Louis Partridge, and Taylor Russell. Dressed in the brand’s holiday collection, the actors voyage through cinematic panoramas of digitally engineered snowy landscapes, later revealed as Los Angeles, until they reach the edge of a hillside overlooking the city. An enigmatic narrative, to say the least.
