If there’s one thing that Pati Dubroff has, it is a stacked portfolio. The celebrity make-up artist has been a part of the beauty space for the past 30 years, and counts Hollywood bigwigs in the vein of Kristen Dunst as well as Elizabeth Olsen as her clients. Beyond so, it is also likely that you’ve seen her work from the Wuthering Heights press tour as of late—on Margot Robbie, specifically—that kickstarted a viral make-up trend encompassing berry-flushed cheeks and diffused blush; a look that has been aptly dubbed “windflushed.” And she’s just getting started for the year, it seems. We sit down with Pati Dubroff herself to find out more, from her travel beauty essentials to the wellness rituals she swears by.
What’s in my in-flight bag
There’s a lot going on in there. Some essentials are the Chanel La Crème Main and Hydra Beauty Nourishing Lip Care Balm for skin nourishment and comfort; the Beekeeper’s Naturals Propolis Immune Support Throat Spray for an extra layer of defence; the Bioeffect EGF Serum for simple, effective skin support; and the Ancient + Brave True Hydration Sachets for consistent hydration.

One make-up tip
Use less powder. When you want skin to look fresh and elevated, powder shouldn’t be the main player. Keep it minimal and intentional and know when to skip it entirely. Too much can flatten and age the skin. Full glam is the exception, where powder helps create that full effect.
The key to a flawless base
A beautiful base always starts before make-up. I begin with stimulation using a mix of facial tools such as microcurrent devices from South Korea and Refa tools from Japan. The IS Clinic Hydra-Cool Serum comes next to soothe the skin and create a smooth, hydrated surface. Then Bioeffect masks provide added hydration and I’ll adjust the moisturising product based on the client’s skin.
The hair tool I swear by
The Day Rate Beauty Power Pins in both sizes. It is the chicest way to throw my hair up.
My make-up must-haves
The Chanel Stylo Ombre et Contour in shade 12 Contour Clair adds the right amount of depth to peepers; the Suqqu The Foundation has a beautifully buildable formula that still looks like real skin; Chanel Le Volume de Chanel Mascara and Sweed Beauty Cloud Mascara give lashes the best definition and lift; while the Makeup by Mario Soft Pop Plumping Blush Veil in Barely Blushing grants a fresh, lived-in flush.

My favourite body care products
I love body care that feels indulgent and effective. I especially love the Aesop Body Cleansers; Mutha Body Scrub and Body Butter; and the Bioeffect Body Intensive Serum.
My non-negotiable wellness rituals
Movement is essential. I make sure there’s some form of it every day, whether it’s strength training, Pilates or hiking. When I’m not working, I prioritise lymphatic drainage massages, along with acupuncture, cupping and traditional Chinese medicine to keep everything flowing and balanced.
My beauty philosophy
Beauty becomes real the moment you accept what you see in the mirror. That honesty allows something deeper to come through and that’s what truly radiates.
