Unless you’ve been entirely immersed and/or deeply entrenched within the 2016 trend, it’s likely that you’ve seen Sophia Sinot on your feed. Or her work, at least—the London-based beauty visionary has been making waves as of late for being the maestro behind the make-up spotted on the likes of Zara Larsson and Emma Chamberlain; a plethora of high-octane looks that employ neon brights, jewels and even larger-than-life butterfly embellishments. We sit down with the vocal advocate of the maximalist beauty movement to pick her brain, delving deep into what belongs in her beauty bag. Read on to find out more about her skin prep essentials, favourite fragrances and more.
A make-up trick that works for all my clients
Everyone looks good with a cat eye lash, clear gloss on the eyelids, high blush placement and blush on the nose bridge for that sunburnt look. Not forgetting highlighter on the highest points of your face.

My signature fragrance
Anything from Narciso Rodriguez. It’s my favourite fragrance brand. Lately I’ve been obsessed with Patchouli Musc. It is a limited edition and I’m hoping they’ll bring it back.
One wellness practice that has made the biggest impact on my lifestyle
I’ve been using the Solis Therapy Spectrum Solo Panel 2.0 almost daily. It’s a red light therapy device that provides anti-ageing effects for your complexion, but also helps with muscle recovery and deepens sleep. What I love about this device is that you can place it in front of you instead of wearing a mask, which is super convenient. I love using this as a part of my morning routine while doing a 10-minute meditation.
Skincare essentials for an immaculate base
I love the La Mer The Moisturising Soft Cream, Augustinus Bader The Eye Patches with TFC8 set and The Rich Eye Cream, Wonderskin Wonder Blading 3-in-1 Lip Scrub, and the Chanel Hydra Beauty Nutrition.
Three must-have make-up products in my bag right now
The MAC Cosmetics Lip Pencil in the shade Cork, Dior Beauty Diorshow Overvolume mascara and Fenty Beauty Gloss Bomb Stix High-Shimmer Gloss Stick in the hue Fu$$y.

One nail trend I’ve been dying to try
I once saw a set of long square black nails with a pink cat eye effect over it. It was the most beautiful set I’d ever seen and so ‘me’. I went to get it at a nail salon but they didn’t have the right products. I’m still looking for a nail artist who can recreate those nails for me.
The most recent trend I’m obsessed with
I’m not sure if this is a trend at the moment, but coloured hair extensions. I am wearing pastel pink tape-ins throughout my platinum hair from BHBD and I love it. I want to do black tape-ins for the next look, like Christina Aguilera had in the 2000s.
A beauty creative who inspired me to become a make-up artist
Michelle Phan. She is the first and only beauty YouTuber I ever followed. When I think about her, I can hear some of the introductions in my head that she had on her videos. Her Barbie transformation video has been living in my head rent-free for the past 15 years.
My wish for the beauty industry in 2026
I’ve been saying I’m officially ending the clean-girl era with my work lately. I hope that in 2026, everyone will bring back colourful and fun make-up again. I also hope red lipstick will make a comeback.
