The vibe: What does it mean to be a woman? This was the question posed on the Miu Miu fall/winter 2025 runway today at the Conseil Économique Palais D’Iéna in Paris. Every season, Miuccia Prada’s show for the maison builds anticipation like no other. The brand is undoubtedly at the height of its popularity, having captured the hearts and favour of a new generation of fashion lovers, leaving other houses wondering how they’re doing it. Miuccia’s secret is more an unspoken feeling than a formula— a chicness presented with a touch of humour.
The vision: At the core of this collection is an essence that has been synonymous with Miu Miu and so organically a part of its story since the beginning of time, the embrace of the ugly-beauty that Miuccia Prada has singularly championed. “Construction invents a shape independent from the figure of the wearer, a shape that
sits around and beside the body, regardless of its form,” shares the brand. “The identification of the feminine
is synonymous with the curve, here worked into garments or engineered beneath. Clothes are manipulated, folded, shifted and shaped to curve.”
What to shop from the collection: Today, this was embodied in conical underpinnings (creating the illusion of perky, almost lethally sharp nipples), beautiful silk dresses pulled to the side to reveal bras, thin knee-high socks (which are back in full force, it seems), some embroidered and some plain, as well as loafers layered with brogues, all paired with sumptuous leather boots. It’s hard to pinpoint trends when talking about Miu Miu because, more often than not, the brand seems to be both creating and defying them in real time. It never feels like a reference, but rather an amalgamation of things coming together in the moment. Like their incredible casting which has stayed consistent season after season, their house icons still remain as desirable as ever: brown leather jackets, librarian-core glasses, midi skirts and of course, bags, bags, bags.
