Loewe has been having quite a year. A recollection of its celebrity clientele—from Rihanna to Beyoncé—will tell you this enough. Following a devastating series of custom looks for the latter’s world tour, the Spanish house also proceeded to top Lyst’s Hottest Brands Index for the second quarter of the year, which was a first time affair for the brand. Hardly a surprise, when one considers the current sartorial mood that welcomes the idiosyncratic more so than ever. Jonathan Anderson’s expressive collections for the house have, after all, always been known to excite and ignite the aesthete’s soul.
Take the maison’s spring/summer 2024 menswear show for example. Against a set designed with the help of sculptor Lynda Benglis, the collection was filled with extremely high-waisted pants, sparkly polo tees, hypersized fabric swatches as tops and playfully textured knits—all distinctly poised like an open door to enter Anderson’s world and see things from his perspective. Ahead of the house’s spring/summer 2024 show in Paris, we can only guess at what might be revealed on the runway. What can be said however is that Anderson’s leanings to the art world still ring clear and true, considering how the show invitation is derived from a close-up of yet another of Benglis’s sculptural work titled Elephant: First Foot Forward.

Much remains to be seen on the garments front, but as of late, we’ve also learnt to anticipate the buzz created just outside the shows—where celebrities from all over the globe will be flying in to grace the front row. The maison’s front row regulars typically include Taylor Russell and Timothée Chalamet, but we’ll also be on the lookout for the arrival of veteran Chinese actor and Loewe’s newest global ambassador, Yang Mi.
Be among the first few to catch the livestream of the Loewe spring/summer 2024 show on Friday, 29 September, at 5:30pm Singapore time below.
