Beyoncé’s Renaissance album is certainly one for the books. Aptly named, her musical comeback last year brought about a revival of house music with hits like ‘Alien Superstar’ and ‘Break My Soul‘ that embody the bold, fearless persona of the Grammy-winning singer. In March, Beyoncé kicked off her world tour, bringing her infectious dance music and ‘club-ready couture‘ to each city she set foot in—and the tour thus far has certainly been a whirlwind affair, especially teamed with a sensational wardrobe.
During her performance of ‘America Has A Problem’ in Sweden, Beyoncé stunned audiences by appearing in a bedazzled, black-and-yellow bodysuit custom-made by Mugler—personifying her title ‘Queen Bey’.
Beyond the onslaught of famed fashion houses seen on tour so far—such as Gucci, Loewe and Balmain—Beyoncé made sure to showcase and celebrate the artistry of up-and-coming Black designers as well. In an Instagram post, she declares: “In honor of Juneteenth, everything I wore for RENAISSANCE WORLD TOUR tonight was created exclusively by Black designers.” She donned designs by Feben, Brandon Blackwood, and Ibrahim Kamara for Off-White.
And of course, a highlight reel of Beyoncé’s best looks would be incomplete without featuring her own brand, Ivy Park. She debuted a striking new collection onstage during the Amsterdam show of her tour—she and her backup dancers clad head-to-toe in neon pink ensembles. She cites her inspiration to be “Studio 54, Bob Mackie and the disco era,” evident from the vivid colours and all-round sparkle of the look. Evidently, from the roster of Renaissance World Tour looks the world has seen thus far, we borrow from the lyrics of ‘Alien Superstar’, to crown this tour a mastermind in haute couture.
