It seems we have found ourselves our next favourite It-girl—in the vein of Bones and All leading star Taylor Russell. Prior to its premiere at the Venice Film Festival 2022, the coming-of-age film had already been gaining plenty of buzz from film aficionados and the fashion crowd alike. Luca Guadagnino’s cannibalism-meets-romance plot definitely had a hand to play in that, but fashion favourite Timothée Chalamet’s first screen appearance of the year also set the expectations high for the red carpet. And despite Chalamet’s striking backless suit moment at the premiere, the evening glinted just a little brighter with Russell’s breathtaking appearance in a green Balenciaga gown from the maison’s fall haute couture 2022 collection. And it didn’t stop there.
With the Venice premiere out of the way, the Bones and All cast and crew embarked on their press tour, where the film star made sure to stamp in her true prowess on the red carpet. From the BFI London Film Festival to the recent 2022 Academy Museum Gala, Russell made sure that every look was one worthy for the fashion books—sifting between a perfectly tailored Schiaparelli couture corset look at the former to her own backless moment at the latter, courtesy of a sliced halterneck gown from the Alexander McQueen spring/summer 2023 collection, as if it had just been taken off the runway.

And solidifying her claim to the scene is none other than fashion designer Jonathan Anderson himself—who even had Russell open his Loewe spring/summer 2023 show. “I’ve never been so inspired by someone. It was the start of a very special friendship and I just thought, she has to open the show. I’m so proud she agreed,” muses Anderson himself on her curious inclusion for the runway. And with celebrity stylist Ryan Hastings—who has dressed the likes of Anya Taylor-Joy, Natalie Portman and Alexa Demie before—sitting behind each and every look for Russell, it seems like we can only expect more immaculate looks from the rising screen star.
See every show-stopping look from Taylor Russell since the premiere of Bones and All—and watch this space for more to come from the undeniable style maven.
