Its manifestation on the haute couture runways leant itself to moments both deeply earthly and unmistakably otherworldly, their crystalline blue evoking oceans, glaciers and endless summer skies. From Armani Privé’s opulent earrings in jewel tones to Balenciaga’s full-turquoise look with matching bejewelled ear cuffs, every saturated stone commanded attention with remarkable clarity thanks to the distinct hue.
The Garden of Eve blooms anew
Once upon a time (or, once upon fall/winter 2026), butterflies, birds, and florals emerged in haute couture’s imaginations. Beyond purely botanical motifs, this season’s haute couture jewellery found itself blossoming as something more fantastical. No longer confined to the wrist, bracelets are moving up the arm. Bicep bracelets are taking their place as fashion’s newest style of adornment, with a look that—even while recalling ancient goddesses and mythological warriors—feels unmistakably contemporary. The armlet, or bicep bracelet, was one of the key styling details at the Balenciaga show, with a vivacious array of gem-encrusted cuffs dressing bare or gloved arms. Off the catwalk, the bicep bracelet is already being taken up by style stars such as Alexa Chung, who wore a Jessica McCormack bangle on her arm to the ready-to-wear shows in Paris earlier in the year.
