Hermès’s spring/summer 2026 collection makes a very convincing case for getting dressed with a little more intent. Shown against a sand-covered runway, the lineup drew on the house’s equestrian roots through saddle-like curves, strap detailing, quilting and plenty of leather, though what made it land was how wearable so much of it felt. Across the collection, the design sense leaned more utilitarian while still incorporating heavy notes of the fabric the house is known for.

What makes the season especially standout is that so many of its key elements carry that unmistakable Hermès language without feeling too dressed up either, with most of the pieces being easy to layer and style. The leather outerwear pieces are a clear standout, styled alongside bermuda shorts and riding boots that carries a sort of roughness, adding a sense of effortlessness to any outfit. The quilted tops and skirts bring in texture too, giving the shorter pieces more depth than a simple summer co-ord. Elsewhere, wrap skirts, harness belts and leather pieces keep the collection subtly tied to the maison’s saddlery references without making them feel overly literal.

Then there are the accessories, which deserve their own moment. The scarf styling was one of the smartest touches in the range, whether wound close to the neck or draped into the look, and it gave the familiar Carré a fresher place within the wardrobe. As for bags, Hermès did not lean too heavily on its most cherished silhouettes here. Instead, the season pushed a line-up with a slightly different energy, one that felt geared towards daywear and movement, while still keeping the house’s equestrian codes close at hand. Archival designs like the Birkins and Kellies appeared alongside recent newcomers such as the Birkin à l’envers, while sizing spanned from petite clutches to soft silhouettes. The runway also saw a newcomer—the new Hobo bag. A curved carryall with a slouchier shape, finished with a handle extended with an additional leather strap—reminiscent of a horse’s girth. All of it adds up to a wardrobe that feels sharp, tactile and ready to be worn now, which is really the main point.
