Making its long-awaited return following two years of the Covid-19 pandemic’s ripple effect, Coachella is finally back—and with it, all of the fun-loving, festival-vibin’ looks that we’ve come to love and emulate over the years.
Weekend one saw an array of heavyweight headliners, from Harry Styles and Billie Eilish to Vogue Singapore cover star Doja Cat. That’s not to mention the many Asian artists who have gone on to make history by playing at this year’s Coachella. Amongst them, Indonesian songstress Niki, Chinese singer and GOT7’s Jackson Wang, and the epic comeback of reuniting K-pop legends 2NE1.
Coachella is known for being home to experimental and playful style at its best, and this certainly extends to the beauty realm. It’s a time when the movers and shakers of the music industry, alongside other celebrities in attendance, can bring out the best expressions of creative make-up and hair styles. Whether it be body glitter, face jewels, or bright neon locks—Coachella beauty is never one to bore.
Thankfully, we weren’t disappointed by the make-up ensembles on display throughout the first weekend of this year’s festival. Performers such as blue-tressed beauty Karol G and metallic-eyed Megan Thee Stallion led the way for festival beauty that spilled off the stage, as seen on many a celebrity festival-goer. Highlights include the Internet-proclaimed ‘Queen of Coachella’ Vanessa Hudgens showing off natural curls and Alessandra Ambrosio flaunting a playful edge with added pink streaks in her brown locks.
