The Dior haute couture spring/summer 2023 show will be unveiled later tonight. All eyes are on creative director Maria Grazia Chiuri as she presents her latest collection, setting the tone for couture fashion week as it begins today. The autumn/winter 2022 haute couture collection last year saw Chiuri draw inspiration from folklore and tradition, taking the works of Ukrainian artist Olesia Trofymenko as a point of reference. A parade of chiffon dresses rendered in plaid embroidery graced the runway, the craftsmanship and attention to detail ever so prominent and present in each look.
This haute couture season, expect nothing less from Chiuri and her team. From signature tulle pieces to strong tailoring, Chiuri’s penchant for incorporating social commentary within her collections is something to look out for. And while much is under wraps, the maison has just released a teaser of the legendary Josephine Baker.
