The Dior haute couture fall/winter 2022-2023 collection will be unveiled later today, live from Paris, at 9pm Singapore time. Last season, Dior’s haute couture showing was dedicated to the “human connection” by way of artisans working together. This season, themes of folklore and tradition are in the air as seen in the house’s latest Instagram teaser. While its finer details are shrouded in secrecy, one can expect the maison to present a grand show. Considering Maria Grazia Chiuri’s commitment to honouring both the atelier and artisans, expect to see a lineup that is characteristically Dior, such as spectacular hand-made textiles and a classic romanticism inspired by Chiuri’s Italian heritage.
With every season, Chiuri has demonstrated feminist consciousness and social responsibility in her legion of collections. Dior’s previous spring/summer 2022 haute couture, specifically, was a celebration of craftsmanship which honoured unacknowledged artisans and petites mains from around the world. This creative chemistry has contributed largely to the savoir-faire the house has been known for. Specifically, delicately crimped flou dresses, hand-braided tops from silk strands, and corsets woven intricately like baskets.
One can’t help but to look forward to what’s in store for the maison. Be among the first to tune in to the Dior haute couture fall/winter 2022-2023 collection live stream on Monday, 4 July at 9pm Singapore time below.
