There’s really no party that screams Hollywood quite like a Chateau Marmont party. The lore-steeped, storied institution off Sunset Boulevard has hosted no shortage of industry events and impromptu gatherings over the last century, but on Sunday, the stage was set for a once-in-a-generation bash: the after-party for Vogue World 2025 in Hollywood. Word has it, the celebration is up there with the most star power-filled nights in the Chateau’s 96-year history…
Guests arrived in their droves, sipping signature Hollywood-themed cocktails–the Dial M for Margarita was a notable crowd-pleaser. After a mandatory quick pause at the photobooth, presented by Chase Sapphire Reserve®, attendees feasted on passed bites of tomato burrata bruschetta, mini grilled cheese sandwiches, and Wagyu burgers.
Many of the luminaries who graced the Vogue World 2025 runway made their second appearance of the night at the Chateau. Comedic cut-ups Jeff Goldblum and Ayo Edebiri kept their respective crowds of friends entertained—an occupational hazard, one might say. Tron: Ares actress Greta Lee could be seen immersed in a chinwag with Derek Blasberg. Euphoria star and fashion muse Hunter Schafer and French model Loli Bahia swapped post-show notes near the indoor bar.
“I used to come to Chateau Marmont a lot and have cute little dinners with friends,” model Imaan Hammam recalled, reflecting on the evening’s significance. “I was so excited to be part of Vogue World Hollywood and celebrate movies and all the incredible people who make them. I really enjoyed the show because it was such a celebration; it was different from normal Fashion Week shows because everyone was a character and everyone was able to really act.”
As I made my way through the gorgeously-attired crowd, I repeatedly heard rumors of caviar about to be served—is there anything more chic than the whispered promise of caviar? Soon after, I clocked it in the corner, where an entire caviar bar had been set up by FWRD and REVOLVE to keep appetites satiated.
Hammam wasn’t the only model blown away by the pageantry and pyrotechnics of Vogue World 2025, as I soon learned after crossing the room to grab a moment with a jewel-clad Winnie Harlow. “The best part of tonight was seeing how everyone came together in the spirit of old Hollywood, and Hollywood in general,” the supermodel praised. “Sometimes it’s hard to do a theme without it being too costume-y, but I feel like everyone really paid attention to what inspired them.”
As the night wound on, the prescient Charli XCX prophecy ‘Everything Is Romantic’ rang true in the air. At one point, I found myself navigating past two people engaged in a passionate embrace—they shall remain nameless, as Vogue certainly does not tell of who’s kissing and telling. To their left, a handsome man applied himself to the daunting task of smoking two cigarettes at once. When at the Chateau, do as the movie stars of yore did pre-camera phones.
The hotel is famous for its labyrinthine layout and abundance of hideaway spots, meaning the gossip-prompting moments at the Vogue World 2025 after-party were being exchanged out of sight—a boon for the evening’s guests, if not for this intrepid party reporter. Still, the surreal opportunity to spot Machine Gun Kelly working the room, only to find myself refreshing my lipstick in the powder room mere inches away from a wavy-bob-sporting Maude Apatow moments later was not lost on me.
Before decamping to the afters with a cross-section of my Vogue colleagues at a West Hollywood bar best-known for Soviet iconography and pleasantly strong drinks, I caught up with two of the night’s most instrumental participants: costume designers Arianne Phillips and Sandy Powell, whose iconic work on films including Quentin Tarantino’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood and Sally Potter’s Orlando were rightfully celebrated on the Vogue World 2025 runway. “We’re never together, except for at award competitions,” laughed Phillips, with Powell adding: “Everyone thinks that we’re rivals, but we’re all friends. We understand each other.”
