It’s always a fun time once fashion season rolls around. The endorphins kick in and the style savants come out to play. There’s no time like now to seize their chances; their wildest and most fabulous wardrobe treasures finally gaining the opportunity to see the light of day. As with every major season, the calendar kicks off properly in New York, where they take their city style as seriously as they take their bagels. Likewise, its designers know to respond in kind, and it was no different this spring/summer 2025 season. If classic Americana was what the sartorial set was searching for, then Ralph Lauren was easily a masterclass in said brief. Whilst Coach’s Stuart Vevers presented a collection that one could easily imagine on the city’s youth—in slouchy layers, of-the-moment bag charms and scuffed-up sneakers. Yet if there were still secrets to be unearthed in the Big Apple, then maybe Pieter Mulier was the closest to it all. From the sudden switch to the American fashion capital this season to the first (and possibly last) show that the Guggenheim Museum might ever host, Alaïa surely brought its sculptural grandeur to the architectural behemoth.
But the mood around Alaïa’s pulsating runway was gleaned elsewhere too. After all, which other show could possibly call upon Rihanna as its secret front row guest? In an instant, her appearance was iron-clad proof that the scene outside the shows mattered just as much as the clothes on the runway. Simply look to Tommy Hilfiger, who aced the celebrity guestlist brief this season, with Jisoo joining the likes of Felix and Lee Know from Stray Kids in the front row. Whilst all of Hollywood’s favourite female faces—both old and new—made their mark at Michael Kors, from Suki Waterhouse and Nina Dobrev to Lindsay Lohan and Barbara Palvin.
In essence? The star power goes unrivalled in the Big Apple. Below, a roundup of all the stylish celebrities we spotted in the New York Fashion Week crowd this spring/summer 2025 season.
