The world’s fashion capital is where the crowd goes wild. There’s something about Paris Fashion Week that brings about a buzz that one can feel in their bones. It’s where each season closes out with a bang, where many ascendent designers aspire to present their collections, and where the biggest, conglomerate-backed houses have exactly what it takes to jet in their ensemble of A-list following. And this season was no different.
Dior pulled out all the stops from the get-go, showing off house ambassadors Anya Taylor-Joy, Natalie Portman, Dilraba Dilmurat and South Korean actor Nam Joo-hyuk, among others, on their staggering guest list. A front-row seat was reserved (rightfully so) for Jisoo as usual, whose appearance has become a mainstay of a Dior show. But of course the rest of the commotion was reserved for South Korean heartthrob Cha Eun-woo that very night, who stepped away from familiar grounds to make his first appearance at a Saint Laurent show, hinting at a new potential appointment.
Over at Valentino, Alessandro Michele called on his longtime muses for support, as Harry Styles, Jared Leto and Florence Welch, arrived to witness his debut show. Meanwhile, NCT’s Johnny Suh and members of ILLIT were also in the City of Light for Acne Studios once more, while over at Chloé, Jeon Jong-seo snagged a coveted front-row seat. This season, however, the front rows at Loewe and Balenciaga seemed the most tightly packed, with the sheer star power emanating through the show grounds.
And finally, on the Week’s closing day, Jennie Kim made her appearance. The Chanel darling emerged to jostling photographers and throngs of fans, as she showed off a new blonde alter-ego. When asked for the inspiration behind the look, Jennie teased her upcoming single ‘Mantra’ (which drops on October 11). Other friends of the house like Margaret Qualley, Nana Komatsu and Thai-British actress Becky Armstrong also stopped by the esteemed Grand Palais to witness its latest spring collection.
