In fashion, all roads lead to Paris. It’s the final leg of the spring/summer 2025 season as the style set converges in the world’s fashion capital for what seems to be the best schedule in years. As the last of the Big Four, Paris Fashion Week typically has a lot to live up to—but its jam-packed calendar easily reflects her crushing dominance over Milan, London and New York.
It was barely a day into the Paris shows when Christian Dior and Saint Laurent presented their collections. On Maria Grazia Chiuri’s predictable moodboard was an ancient Roman statue of Diana, the goddess of hunting, to symbolise female power. Anthony Vaccarello, on the other hand, dug deep into the wardrobe of the late, great Yves Saint Laurent himself for inspiration, even coaxing Bella Hadid out of a two-year hiatus to walk the runway.
Stay on board though, for there’s plenty of newness to come. All eyes will undoubtedly be at Valentino, where Alessandro Michele will make his debut as the maison’s new creative director (not counting the surprise, more-is-more resort drop he did in June). There’s also Chemena Kamali’s sophomore show with Chloé following her rapturous debut last season, Seán McGirr’s second collection at Alexander McQueen, as well as the first post-Dries Dries Van Noten show.
And there’s zero space for let-up at the end: Chanel will open the closing day with a return to the Grand Palais, the backdrop for some of Karl Lagerfeld’s most legendary, history-making presentations. The Parisian house will stage a studio-designed collection this season following Virginie Viard’s graceful bow out in June. At another location—or only the happiest place on earth—Coperni will present a collection that is inspired by Disney’s cast of princesses at Disneyland Paris. The brand makes headlines every season with its live-on-the-runway showmanship and avant-garde drama, yet it promises to knock all their previous viral moments out of the water with the upcoming show. Who knows? Mickey, Minnie, and the rest of the gang might just be there as front-row witnesses.
It’s obviously a full schedule, but there needs to be time set aside for the street style set. It’s Paris, after all. Showgoers have been delivering masterclasses in the je ne sais quoi of French fashion in spite of the city’s wet, dreary weather. Headpieces in its many iterations, pointed-toe boots, voluminous blouses, skirts, dresses and clashing leopard prints were everywhere to be seen. Below, scroll through the best street style from the spring/summer 2025 shows of Paris Fashion Week, as captured by Phil Oh.
