A new year often brings a round of fresh resolutions to keep. An optimistic list that spans the various aspects of life from health and wellness, self-improvement and relationships, amongst others. And streaming platforms are running in the same vein, with 2026 off to a strong start of releases that run the gamut.
Though the year has just begun, one thing is clear: rom-coms are so back. The highly anticipated book-to-film adaptation People We Meet On Vacation sees main characters Alex and Poppy come to life on the big screen, as they go from best friends to budding romance. In the realm of K-dramas, actor Kim Seon-ho makes a swoonworthy comeback in Can This Love Be Translated?, where love is the only fluent language spoken. Not to mention the moment we’ve all been waiting for: Bridgerton Season 4, with our January/February cover star Yerin Ha turning heads of the ton.
Thrill seekers can take delight in His & Hers, where estranged husband and wife frame each other as the prime suspect in a murder case that haunts their small town. For some epic, fast-paced action, turn to Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials, where the classic crime novel transforms into a three-part series starring Mia McKenna-Bruce, Helena Bonham Carter and Martin Freeman.
Perhaps ‘watching more films and television shows’ is a worthy resolution to achieve this month. Below, find the full list of what to watch this January on streaming platforms like Netflix, HBO Max and Apple TV.
