December has officially made it to our doorstep, marking the end of the year before we know it. 2025 was a year of theatrical releases for both film and television. The silver screen saw box office hits from the debut of David Corenswet’s Superman to the highly anticipated Wicked: For Good. Meanwhile, streaming platforms brought Adolescence, When Life Gives You Tangerines and the final season of Stranger Things, amongst others.
While it may be the last month of the year, December is moving full steam ahead with its releases. Not sure what to watch? This month’s lineup has got you covered. Starting off strong, Netflix’s hit reality show Culinary Class Wars returns with a sequel, as a new wave of ‘Black Spoon’ chefs face the formidable ‘White Spoon’ circle of elites in a series of challenges that truly test a chef’s flame. Emily in Paris also continues with a fifth season now set in Rome, following Emily’s new appointment in the previous instalment. In a brand new city, she tackles her career, love life and friendships as the odds continue to be stacked against her.
K-drama wise, Made in Korea will make its premiere on Disney+. Hyun-bin stars as main lead Baek Ki-tae, an astute agent at Korea’s Central Intelligence Agency who leads a deceitful double life. He meets his adversary Jang Geon-young, a judicious public prosecutor. Their lives soon become entangled as vengeance battles with justice.
For the film buffs, a string of blockbusters arrive to streaming platforms’ shores this month with the likes of F1: The Movie (starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris) and The Roses led by Olivia Coleman and Benedict Cumberbatch. For Christmas specials, Kate Winslet makes her directorial debut in Goodbye June and Michelle Pfeiffer stars as a jaded mother in the holiday comedy, Oh What Fun.
