It’s that time of the year: the Mid-Autumn Festival is upon us. As one of Singapore’s cultural highlights, the festival is a rich occasion for community—and Paragon is taking that community to the next level. After all, the shopping mall on Orchard Road has been an icon of luxury retail for over 25 years, bringing together like-minded individuals across fashion, food, beauty, lifestyle and more.
Behold, Paragon’s Mid-Autumn Lumiere: a platform that goes beyond mooncakes, and looks to champion children and youth with disabilities. Taking centre stage is a captivating showcase of 50 rabbit sculptures, each thoughtfully designed in collaboration with students from Raffles Design Institute and artists of ART:DIS (Arts & Disability) Singapore. Displayed within Paragon’s atrium and available for symbolic adoption, the sculptures celebrate artistic expression while supporting a meaningful social cause.

The rabbits themselves are each microcosms of the spirit of the Mid-Autumn Festival, signalling joy, hope and prosperity through charming sculptural forms awash with a veritable rainbow of vivid colours. Taken together, the collection sits at the intersection of art, fashion and design—a creative showcase of the very best of our newest generation of homegrown talent.
Most importantly, as part of the campaign, Paragon’s Adopt-a-Rabbit charity initiative offers shoppers the opportunity to give back to the community. All the proceeds from adopted rabbit sculptures will benefit ART:DIS Singapore and its programmes, extending persons with disabilities working in the arts more opportunities to stretch their creative muscles and grow their disciplines. Artistic access for an underprivileged community that deserves the broader public’s appreciation—community at its finest.

Charity sponsor CapitaLand Hope Foundation (CHF), the philanthropic arm of CapitaLand Group, is also set to match contributions dollar-for-dollar, up to $40,000, as part of its #GivingAsOne campaign. The funds raised this way will directly support the efforts of the Foundation Visual Arts Programme at ART:DIS.
Complementing the rabbit sculptures is a full-blown festive programme tailor-made to give community new meaning. A selection of Mid-Autumn mooncakes—only natural for the season—carefully curated by Old Seng Choong and Janice Wong, along with an elegant tablescape courtesy of Christofle’s signature tableware. Thrilling live performances of traditional Chinese music. Workshops for visitors to try their hand at customising their very own candles. Even an array of family-friendly activities, courtesy of Paragon Junior, like balloon sculpting and face painting.

Additionally, exclusive rewards are available for Paragon Club members—another example of the shopping mall doubling down on the community feel. These include a rare opportunity to snag the 290 Grand Reserve Tea Set (with a minimum spend of $1,000), and the prospects of earning 2,675 bonus points (worth $1,070) at participating stores, alongside a $10 eCapitaVoucher with qualifying eCapitaVoucher purchases.
All in all, the Mid-Autumn Lumière is an opportunity to celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival. But more than that, it gives us all plenty of reasons to celebrate community—to gather at the heart of one of Orchard Road’s buzziest retail destinations, walk its hallowed halls and savour a uniquely special showcase of artistic creativity.
