Not a single second of ennui is to be expected when one steps into a Bottega Veneta show. Last year, Matthieu Blazy’s version of fall was inspired by an extremely diverse cast of characters—each one delectably dressed up and delivered, as if he dreamt them all up to live in his own little utopia. Fabrics were light and unconstrained; shapes were varied in all manner from those waistband skirts to dresses that remained loose and undefined; and surprise textures ran from fringe to the trompe-l’œil slipper socks. Later in the year, Blazy’s presentation for spring was one that referenced the world. The globetrotter was his muse—but done least in the way one would expect. Yet one thing was clear: whoever he was designing for, they were unshackled from the rules of the world; they were free.
With every new turn, it’s become clear that Blazy will joyfully keep us on our toes. So with the Bottega Veneta fall/winter 2024 show set to unfold in a few hours in Milan, there’s no mistake that it’s one of the most highly-awaited shows of the city’s roster. Considering Blazy’s technical mastery and impeccable craft, the sartorial-inclined can only expect a dreamscape of garments that are both impossibly refined yet delightfully artful. Beyond the show, many will also be looking forward to catching a glimpse of its celebrity guest list—with Chinese actress Zhou Yutong and Thai star Dew Jirawat expected to be in attendance.
With the anticipation at an all-time-high, be one of the first few to tune into the Bottega Veneta fall/winter 2024 show happening live from Milan on Sunday, 25 February, 3AM SGT.
