It is on an unassuming Wednesday evening in April that we gather at Rasa. Outside, the work day is winding down. Step inside, however, and you’ll find a completely different scene. Designed by Studio Karhard, the visionaries behind Berlin’s Berghain and Kyiv’s ∄, the new nightlife destination is as electrifying as it is inviting. Over 200 guests fill the space—mingling in the Hall, a sophisticated cocktail lounge, or taking to the Floor, an intimate music haven with a live set by DJ HBN, co-founder of day party collective Last Saturdays. Indeed, the night is young, and the party is only just getting started.

The event in question: Vogue Underground. In tandem with Vogue Singapore’s 2025 April ‘Movement’ Issue, the exclusive event brought together the city’s creative community to dive into the pulse of today’s cultural revolution. Spotlighting tastemakers in entertainment, art, fashion and design, Vogue Underground sought to celebrate Singapore’s subcultures whilst inspiring the next generation of creatives—all through an unforgettable party.

To kickstart the night, Vogue Singapore publisher Natasha Damodaran welcomed guests with a speech introducing the April ‘Movement’ issue and its focus on rising voices, subcultures and self-expression. Emphasising the importance of cultural connection, she highlighted the diverse crowd present—from artists and designers to musicians and creative leaders—and encouraged guests to connect and share ideas beyond their usual circles. After all, movements are created through collaboration and shared vision.
Dance collective The Débutante then took to the stage. Featured in the Vogue Singapore ‘Movement’ issue, the all-female crew performed a piece specially choreographed for the event—opening the party with a bang.

As guests mingled around, various design activations around the space provided picture-perfect photo spots. An interactive analogue TV installation designed by local artist Russell Goh displayed Vogue Underground-themed visuals as well as our April 2025 issue cover star Bibi, whilst Clare Chong’s grungy visual installation came inspired by the cover story.
Also a highlight at the party was an experiential and sensory fragrance booth by Mugler Fragrances, showcasing the Angel and Amen fragrance ranges—including the new Angel Fantasm and Amen Fantasm. Guests got the opportunity to try the new fragrances firsthand, and capture the experience at a visually striking installation.

Combining beauty and technology, NFC-enabled face stickers were distributed to guests—created in collaboration with Ffface.me. Bringing the face stickers trend to the next level with the help of TikTok filter integration, the stickers unlock two exclusive digital filters with a simple scan of the phone, offering guests a fun beauty experience that goes beyond just the physical.
And what would a party be without a dependable array of delectable canapés and beverages? To that end, a tantalising array of Don Julio cocktails, from the refreshing Don Paloma to the rich Don Espresso Martini, kept guests going throughout the evening. To accompany them, Luxe Catering served up a scrumptious spread, including irresistible bite-sized servings of chicken and waffles, and a delicious Otah Comte Toastie. As for sweet treats, Rasa’s ice cream bar certainly delivered an endless flow.

With the dress code ‘Chromatic Rebellion’, guests showed up and showed out, and were well-rewarded. To close the event, two best-dressed guests—handpicked by fashion features editor Maya Menon—walked away with prizes including memberships to Rasa as well as Mugler Fragrance’s iconic Angel fragrances and merchandise. That said, no one left empty-handed. As the night drew to a close, guests got to take home goodie bags with Vogue Singapore’s April ‘Movement’ Issue, as well as miniature bottles of Angel perfumes from Mugler Fragrances.
