Last Tuesday, 4 July, Chanel presented its haute couture fall/winter 2023 collection at the Port de la Conférence, in front of an audience of star-studded guests. Among them was Vanessa Paradis, who was one of the inspirations for this collection.
“I remain the child born in Villiers-sur-Marne who only became a Parisian at 16 and for whom Paris is a constant wonder,” shares Paradis. The Parisienne is a limitless inspiration for the house of Chanel, which constantly redraws the contours of its look. We discover, silhouette after silhouette, a wardrobe testifying to the impeccable know-how of Chanel’s workshops, which Paradis also takes pleasure in rediscovering throughout this collection. “In this collection, there is an incredible tweed trouser and jacket set. Every detail is a work of art, starting with the buttons.”
“I don’t think I can define my style, I like to mix and match, bohemian silhouettes but also very chic and very simple things. It’s a style made up of several styles,” confides Paradis to Vogue. These mixtures of organzas, tweeds, silk muslins and laces seen at the Chanel show transcribe both her’ wardrobe and the very idea of Parisian style.
In the front row of the Chanel haute couture fall/winter 2023 show, Paradis once again displayed a vision of chic by wearing a Chanel ensemble with floral embroidery, which she accessorised with a pair of gold ankle boots and black oval glasses.
