Technology in the beauty sphere has evolved in spades—and it’s one we don’t seem to mind. Historically, beauty brands have had to operate and adapt to specific definitions of skin types, textures and tones, undoubtedly leaving numerous folks out in the dust. Many took a trial and error approach, in order to figure out what complemented their skin the best. However, with the integration of technologies like Augmented Reality (AR), brands and aesthetic clinics have been able to provide more intelligent approaches and specialised experiences for its customers. In the same vein, these technological advancements have also widened the net of treatments one can opt for, each one suited to one’s preferences and needs. With the beauty and aesthetics scene rapidly developing every day, 2026 beckons a wealth of experiences; think high-impact devices for improved scalp health; increasingly less invasive tweakments for lifting and skin rejuvenation; and recovery spaces in response to the zeitgeist’s marked interest in wellness.
To sieve out the most exciting of the lot, Vogue Singapore’s team ventures out into the beauty landscape, putting each of these procedures and addresses to the test. This month, we are met with potent skin lifting treatments conducted by Cambridge Medical Group that utilises radiofrequency and microfocused ultrasound energy to define one’s mien. Not forgetting, too, a massage ritual designed to optimise sleep alongside a facial acupuncture procedure that is said to rejuvenate and rebalance your body’s inner workings.

Ultherapy Prime and XERF, price upon request, at Cambridge Medical Group
Who it’s catered for: Individuals struggling with sagging skin as well as signs of ageing which encompasses fine lines, wrinkles and the like.
Vogue’s review: As beauty veterans can attest, Ultherapy has long been regarded as the procedure of choice for folks looking for two things: a non-invasive treatment that produces discernible results as well as effects that can go the distance. This works through the employment of microfocused ultrasound energy that is delivered to the deep foundational layers of the skin, of which leads to the bolstering of collagen production that creates the impression of a taut and toned visage.
Seeing how Ultherapy Prime is touted as the revamped rendition of the original Ultherapy, it comes as no surprise that it comes equipped with enough improvements to make a difference. Beyond more precise image visualisation that makes it easier for doctors to focus on skin layers more accurately, it is also said to cause less discomfort and minimal swelling. What’s more, effects can last up to a year or more, though it should be noted that it comes with a caveat that it is dependent on a person’s own skin condition and lifestyle.
In the case of Cambridge Medical Group, they are opting to pair Ultherapy Prime with XERF; a radiofrequency energy-centered treatment that is said to penetrate multiple skin layers to sculpt and define key areas where skin laxity is often observed. Both treatments differ in their approach: Ultherapy Prime goes deep into the root to trigger lifting and collage simulation while XERF is centered on overall skin tightening. Together, they act as a dream duo: ensuring the proliferation of collagen generation that results in a more youthful-looking appearance as well as instantaneous complexion firming.
Having first experienced a rather painful bout of Ultherapy several years ago, I was apprehensive heading into the experience especially considering the back-to-back regime. Thankfully, my fears were for naught—a detailed assessment was first conducted by Cambridge Medical Group’s Medical Director, Dr Shirley Kwee, who deemed that the area of focus should be on the lower half of my face thanks to my facial structure being more bottom-heavy. A thorough coat of numbing cream was applied and left on for 40 minutes; a powerful concoction that left my countenance completely devoid of feeling after. The first thing I noticed upon commencing was that the sensation is more akin to a sharp jolt than the fiery, lingering sensation of Ultherapy. This made the entire session a lot more tolerable, and we had moved on to XERF before I knew it. XERF, thankfully, simply constitutes a gentle warmth traveling across the face. Its built-in cooling function also means that it doesn’t ease into burning territory.
A short two hours later, I was done. Results were obvious to the naked eye right away, courtesy of XERF: my visage appeared sculpted and more defined than before, though Dr Kwee did inform me that the full extent of both Ultherapy and XERF’s effects would be best observed in a month’s time. At the two week mark, I had begun receiving compliments on the cut of my jaw and the reduced appearance of my double chin; a problem area that has been bothering me for years on end. Bearing in mind the current (already) impressive results, it’s safe to say that I’ll be waiting with bated breath to see what comes next.

Sleep Repair Ritual, $350++ for 90 minutes, at Auriga Spa
Who it’s catered for: Insomniacs, the severely jet-lagged or anyone contending with an irregular sleep schedule that is likely anxiety-induced.
Vogue’s review: Adjusting back to regular programming after spending a week in an European city with a 13-hour time difference can be summed up in a single word: impossible. Thankfully, Capella Singapore’s invitation came in at just the right time. See: the arrival of four new treatments utilising multi-award-winning Irish wellness brand, Ground. Crafted utilising 100% natural ingredients, the label comprises a variety of essential oil blends, sprays and balms that act as solutions to a variety of ailments ranging from bloating to sore muscles.
For the Sleep Repair Ritual, gentle massage techniques came into play alongside mindful breathwork to induce slower, more intentional breathing. I’m told this can often result in deep sleep, which is, naturally, the whole point to the treatment. In this vein, my session began with a guided series of inhalations and exhalations, where I was instructed to take big whiffs of an organic geranium and jasmine blend from my therapist’s cupped palms. What followed after was an array of meticulous kneading and gentle pounding to work out tense knots. What I found particularly memorable was my therapist extending this treatment to my stomach area, pressing down precisely on a particular area to eradicate gastrointestinal discomfort without causing pain.
There was also a facial component to Auriga’s Sleep Repair Ritual. My make-up was carefully removed using Ground’s nourishing Biome Cleansing Oil—a highly-nourishing formulation comprising rice bran and castor oil to further fortify the skin barrier—before my therapist moved onto my scalp, kneading her fingertips into pressure points all-over my head to reduce nervous tension. Suffice to say, this worked a little too well. Sleep came in a matter of minutes, though I did wake up in time to feel a splattering of a scented face mist dispersing across my face; the perfect cherry on top ending to an undoubtedly restful ritual.
